Your personal sphere of play: The Ries lab is developing super-resolution microscopy methods for structural cell biology and is looking for a postdoc to join the team. About the Max Perutz Labs: The Max Perutz Labs is a joint research institute of the University of Vienna and the Medical University of Vienna. It was founded in 2005 to deepen the collaboration between the two universities in the field of molecular biosciences. Approximately 450 scientists from over 40 nations work in 40 research groups at the institute, investigating fundamental questions in molecular and cell biology. State-of-the-art research infrastructure supports their work in basic biomedical research. The employment duration is 3  years, an extension is possible. Your future tasks: Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means: You will program an embedded system including an FPGA for a custom MINFLUX microscope. You will develop a microscope control software. You will align, use and further improve the optical setup of the microscope. You will contribute to teaching. This is part of your personality: Background in software engineering for microscopy: Extensive experience programming microscope control software. Expertise in programming embedded systems using a hardware description language. Extensive experience in signal generation using embedded systems.
