The primary responsibility of this position is to deliver on a research project to develop an End-to-end misinformation and disinformation protection, awareness and mitigation pipeline. We will be recruiting a research engineers or fellows, as part of a wider project, to conduct research on: Signal processing combined with AI-based modification on speech signals. The need is for a real-time system, so efficient coding is important. Key Responsibilities: Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI) Ian McLoughlin, Co-PI Tong Rong and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.  Undertake research within your domain, including keeping track of state-of-the-art work. Develop the code, evaluate and test. Write academic publications. Deliver solution-ready demonstration code. Interact well within the team and the customers. Be self-directed to fulfil the project requirements. Job Requirements: Competence in working with languages such as C along with AI applications as well as Python-based coding . Have a degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering. Possessing a Master’s or PhD degree will definitely be advantageous. Knowledge of machine learning, pytorch, huggingface etc... Knowledge of speech, audio, time-series or signal processing is required. Ability to effectively and efficiently utilise industry-standard Linux-based computers for AI. Experience of authoring good quality academic publications. Manage undergraduate research assistants (if appropriate). Liaise with customers and collaborators in A*STAR and NTU, as well as collaborators in the UK and China. Key Responsibilities Design and develop a prototype of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) model with deep learning algorithm to detect, distinguish and identify complex sensing signals in  maritime space. Conduct literature review on deep learning algorithm for complex signals. Design and develop a prototype for maritime sensing Conduct trials and experiments to determine the success of the prototype,  Propose and develop trials and experiments acceptance test steps/procedures,  Process and analyse the data gathered from the trial and experiments. Prepare the final report on the trial and experiments conducted with details covering findings and analysis, as well as the recommended way ahead. Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment. Job Requirements Have relevant competence in the areas of sensing, system modeling, simulation testing for both hardware and software, experimental prototyping and testing. Have a degree in engineering / applied physics, electrical, mechanical, marine, computer engineering or equivalent. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on an industry innovation research project where you will be part of the research team to develop a demonstration scale low pressure membrane system in collaboration with Atera Water Pte Ltd. Key Responsibilities Applicants are invited for a Research Engineer in low pressure membrane system (LPMS). Reporting to the Project Principal Investigator (PI), you will assist in all administration matters including overseeing, planning, forecasting, budgeting as well as ensuring the smooth running of the daily operations for the project Assists in co-supervision of final year projects (FYP) or capstone projects students or student helpers under the Project PI. Assist in designing, planning and setting up of a demonstration scale LPMS plant at a site allocated by PUB. Assist in designing, planning and setting up of a lab-scale LPMS plant at a SIT Punggol campus Assist in carrying out of experiment, data logging and analysis of data collected. Work with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) results generated by an expert to correlate with experimental data Assists the PI in drafting of reports, conference proceedings and journal articles based on the outcome of the projects. Prepares and shares fortnightly report of results from the computations with the program director and PI. Support the procurement and maintenance of the software/hardware under the charge of the PI Any other adhoc duties assigned. Requirements The appointee should have a strong foundation in fluid dynamics and understanding of fluid (air and water) flow is important. Appointee should also have experience with design of experiments, carrying out experiments and results analysis. Prior experience working with membrane systems will be a plus. A recognised degree from a good University B.Eng or M.Eng in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, chemical or environmental engineering Strong foundation in Fluid Dyanmics Able to work independently with strong data analytical skills, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in handling large data sets and the ability to analysis and interpret results Experience with internet of things setup and controller design (PLC or embedded computing) Key Competencies Good self-discipline and motivated to deliver Show strong initiative and take ownership of work Able to build and maintain strong working relationships with people within and external to the university.
