The post is located within the Belfast Youth Development Study (BYDs) and supervised by a multi-disciplinary team to support the roll out of a further sweep of the longitudinal study, which has been running for 20+ years. The post holder will be responsible for the successful delivery of a three-phase methodology inclusive of an online survey, forensic tracing of cohort members, data linkage as well as a small qualitative component. Essential Criteria: Have or be about to obtain a relevant PhD in a health or other relevant discipline (e.g., nursing, social science, psychology, allied health, health services research). Significant relevant research experience in publichealth / social sciences, relating to mental health/ substance use. Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis specifically longitudinaldata analysis. Breadth and depth of experience of using statistical software (SPSS/STATA/SAS/R/Mplus. Experience of presentations/dissemination of research findings at local, national or international level. A publication track record, commensurate with career stage. About the Job: As Associate Director:  Financial Planning and Analysis, you will lead complex forecasting, analysis and reporting for the Financial Management team, supporting decision-making across the whole UEL group in the UK and overseas. You will manage a direct team and influence colleagues across different teams to ensure robust planning, reporting and regulatory compliance. You will: Lead complex forecasting and commercial analysis, including tuition fee income, new degree programmes and other developments, informing the Medium-Term Financial Strategy. Coordinate and reconcile the consolidated group budget and forecasts, ensuring timely, accurate and value-adding monthly reporting across income & expenditure, balance sheets, cashflows, debt and capital. Take responsibility for key statutory and regulatory returns and financial analysis, including TRAC and the Annual Financial Return, ensuring clear internal processes, deadlines and approvals. Description The Water Research Center, New York University Abu Dhabi, is seeking to hire an Associate Research Scientist to develop calix[n]arene-based covalent organic frameworks for water purification. The successful candidate will develop new calix[n]arene-based covalent organic frameworks for water purification applications. To explore this area of macrocycle-based porous frameworks for water contaminant removal, the candidate will be involved in the directed synthesis of organic macrocycle containing linkers and porous frameworks and then investigate the supramolecular interactions with various organic pollutants. This would require knowledge in the design and synthesis of porous frameworks, particularly in techniques such as Schlenk line, glove box, powder X-ray diffraction, electron diffraction, electron microscopy, and porosity analysis. The candidate is expected to have a thorough understanding of the analytical techniques used to characterize the materials. Experience in the application of such materials to water treatment is preferred. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD scientists, graduate students, and undergraduate students. Applicants must have a PhD in chemistry or materials science. Excellent experimental and synthetic skills relevant to the project (particularly, synthesis of covalent organic frameworks) are required.
