Established by presidential decree in 2013, the University of Sadat City (USC) is an Egyptian Governmental University, which was set up in Sadat City as a branch of Menoufia University.

It is made up of eight colleges and institutes, which include the faculty of physical education; the faculty of tourism and hotels; the faculty of veterinary medicine; the faculty of pharmacy; the faculty of commerce; the faculty of education and the faculty of law, as well as the Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Research Institute and the Institute of Environmental Studies and Research.

Its campus is modern and provides a selection of academic and non-academic facilities and services to its 41,000 students, including a library and administrative services.

Sadat City is in the Monufia Governorate, in Egypt and was named after the late president Anwar Sadat, who was in office from 1970 to 1981. Located 94 kilometres from Cairo and 128 kilometres from Alexandria, Sadat City is a first generation new urban community and one of Egypt’s largest industrial cities. It was built as part of a new town movement in Egypt that constituted the building of three self-contained cities and around five satellite towns around the capital to ease population pressure upon Cairo and expand urban growth and land reclamation in the desert. Sadat City is surrounded by a 350-kilometre squared green belt which means it is one of the Middle East’s most environmentally friendly industrial cities. Some 79,000 people live in Sadat City.

The UK Illicit Project is an NIHR funded 14-month pilot RCT of The Illicit Project-UK a school-based universal drug prevention and harm reduction intervention for older adolescents. The research follows on from an earlier feasibility study funded under the government's Innovation Fund to Reduce Demand for Illicit Substances.  It is a collaboration between Liverpool John Moores University, Stirling University, the Matilda Centre at the University of Sydney, the University of Liverpool, and Queens University, Belfast. Work includes contributing to pilot RCT of an effective Australian intervention for delivery in the UK in collaboration with young people and educational professionals; recruiting schools and liaising with school staff; and undertaking surveys and qualitative work with intervention recipients. You will have a postgraduate qualification or equivalent research experience in a relevant discipline, experience of working with young people on research trials or substance use research and a good understanding of the challenges of working in a school environment. About us  The Department of Defence Studies is part of the School of Security Studies within the Faculty of Social Science and Public Policy at King’s College London. Our campus is outside London, located within the Defence Academy of the UK, Shrivenham, Wiltshire About the role  The Department of Defence Studies seeks to recruit two Lecturers in Defence Studies Education on the King’s Academic Education Pathway to contribute to the Department’s teaching and research capacity in defence studies. Both are Fixed Term Contracts, one for one year and one for two years.  We welcome applications from a broad range of expertise within the field of Security Studies. Any specific research focus may be considered, but preference will be given to candidates with subject matter expertise in the following areas: professional military and security education; disruptive technology and AI; Russian strategy and doctrine; military operations and wargaming; military history; nuclear strategy; applied military ethics.  The successful applicants will be based in the Defence Studies Department at the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom in Shrivenham and will undertake high-quality scholarship and support a range of professional military and security education courses at the postgraduate level. Successful candidates will teach and supervise students who are serving officers and civil servants in the UK and allied armed forces and partners. There are also opportunities to contribute to the School of Security Studies highly successful open online programmes, International Affairs and Global Security. Research Assistant Working Collaboratively with the Homeless Sector

The clinical psychology programme team is looking to employ a full time Research Assistant from March 2026 to September 2027 to support the development of our work within the Homeless sector. This post is crucial to the programme being able to build the evidence of the impact of providing training placements for clinical psychologists within the sector.  Until very recently there was limited training opportunities to work in this sector owing to the barriers of supervision and placement expectations. Over the last two year we have piloted a new approach which NHSE have supported. They have provided further financial commitment for to enable us to extend the project and explore how best to evaluate the direct and indirect benefits of the project. This post would particularly suit those with an aspiration to become a clinical psychologist and will provide an opportunity to work with a team of applied psychologists, homeless sector partners as well as trainees who respect and value one another, are advocates for lived experience, lifelong learning, and who embrace change. About you Applicants will typically need to have a master’s degree in psychology or a relevant field and will be confident in the use of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies as well as how to undertake evaluations. They will have self-assurance in their written and oral communication skills so that they are able to engage in sensitive topics of conversations. The profession of clinical psychology currently attracts fewer individuals from minority groups into training. These posts will play a central role in helping us to understand how the profession can help address psychological and physical health inequalities in this sector, so we are seeking someone who wishes to contribute to this and be part of a cultural change.
