They should have a PhD degree in a related field and will have significant achievements in relation to research, teaching and institutional service commensurate with the level of appointment they seek. Teaching achievements are expected to include the development of new courses and programmes and practice in innovative pedagogical methods. They should preferably have a recognized postgraduate qualification, at Master’s level or equivalent in Applied Linguistics or a related discipline. They are expected to have at least 3 years’ post-qualification teaching experience, preferably at tertiary level, or relevant professional experience. The Centre is specifically looking for candidates with competence in the following areas: (i) teaching academic literacy and communication skills at the undergraduate level; (ii) embedding digital competence and multimodal communication in teaching practice and materials design; and (iii) supporting student learning beyond the classroom through blended-learning and digital resources.
