Essential Requirements A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, or a relevant field; A strong publication record in top and leading scientific journals; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and Commitment to teaching and mentoring students. What We Offer The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 3 years initially, with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of the second three-year fixed-term contract. Exceptionally outstanding candidates at Professor/Associate Professor level may be considered for appointment on tenure terms, subject to approval. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave, professional leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable. The Centre for Health AI Research and Translation (CHART) was established in late 2025 under the LKS Faculty of Medicine to provide a unique platform that facilitates innovative health AI research and accelerates the translation of clinically validated AI and big data systems in a sustainable and trusted manner. We are now seeking a highly motivated researcher with strong technical expertise and a demonstrated interest in developing, evaluating, and translating AI-enabled digital health solutions. The appointee will contribute to interdisciplinary research projects involving academic, clinical, technical, and industry partners, and lead the planning, development, delivery, and operation of CHART’s technical platforms and digital solutions, ensuring they are robust, scalable, secure, and aligned with the Centre’s strategic objectives. Key responsibilities include: Conducting and supporting high-quality research in health AI, digital health, clinical informatics, research-support systems, or related areas. Leading the technical team and providing day-to-day supervision, guidance, and performance management. Overseeing and contributing to the design, development, deployment, and evaluation of AI-enabled digital health platforms, applications, databases, and related infrastructure. Ensuring system security, reliability, performance, scalability, and compliance with relevant data governance and privacy requirements. Working closely with academic, clinical, technical, and industry collaborators to advance translational health AI research. Translating clinical, operational, and research needs into practical technical solutions, prototypes, and implementation plans. Coordinating technical resources, project timelines, and deliverables across multiple stakeholders. Providing strategic technical input to support the Centre’s growth and long-term development. Managing integration with external systems, devices, APIs, and platforms as required. Reviewing and improving development workflows, documentation, deployment processes, and technical standards. Working closely with academic, clinical, technical, and industry collaborators to advance translational health AI research. Presenting research findings, progress updates, technical proposals, and system recommendations to internal and external stakeholders. For appointment as RAP, candidates will additionally be expected to demonstrate the ability to develop an independent research agenda, lead research initiatives, secure external funding, and publish in high-quality venues. Applicants should have: A Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, Biomedical Informatics, Health Informatics, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline. Strong research and technical background in AI, digital health, software systems, system architecture, databases, cloud deployment, or healthcare data environments. Substantial hands-on experience with technical platforms, software development, system integration, databases, cloud deployment, and production support. A track record of research outputs, technical achievements, platform development, system implementation, or digital transformation. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, coordination, and project management skills. The ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and collaborate effectively with academic, clinical, technical, and industry partners. Familiarity with AI, digital health, research systems, and healthcare data environments, and experience in ReactJS/Next.js, Swift, Kotlin, PHP, MySQL, and cloud-based deployment, as well as familiarity with AR, Unity integration or Web3/NFT platforms, would be a strong advantage. Candidates with less experience in publications and project management may be considered for the post of PDF.
