Ref.: 536819 Work type: Full-time Department: Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, School of Clinical Medicine (20900) Categories: Professoriate Staff Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Clinical Associate Professor/ Clinical Assistant Professor (several posts) in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 536819), to commence as soon as possible, on a four-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second four-year fixed-term contract, subject to satisfactory performance. Applicants should possess a medical qualification registrable with the Medical Council of Hong Kong and a specialist qualification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, i.e. Fellowship of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (Obstetrics and Gynaecology). Applicants should demonstrate proven capacity and potential for high-quality research, and excellence in teaching and student supervision at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. They must also demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, and be able to contribute to the enhancement and development of medical and health sciences courses in the Faculty. Those with experience of having successfully developed and submitted research grants and worked effectively with major international partners and funding agencies; interacting effectively across multiple sectors; and establishing and managing studies involving colleagues from different disciplinary backgrounds may be favourably considered. The appointees will undertake teaching responsibilities, and organize and develop both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. They are expected to conduct high-quality scholarly research, provide clinical services and patient care at the University's teaching hospitals, and participate in services/administration at Departmental, Faculty and University levels. They are also expected to play a key role in leading the development of academic scholarship and teaching programmes of the Department. The Centre of Cancer Medicine is a platform to facilitate the academic development of cancer medicine and oncology, and is created to foster collaboration among the cognate disciplines/ (sub)specialities within the Centre of Cancer Medicine/ School of Clinical Medicine, and with other Schools/ Departments/ Institutes/ Hospitals/ Colleges. Applicants should possess a medical qualification registrable with the Medical Council of Hong Kong, with a specialist qualification in Clinical Oncology/Medical Oncology recognized by the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine or its equivalent.
