Description The Center for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (CAIR) at NYU Abu Dhabi invites qualified applicants with a doctorate degree in the areas of electrical or computer engineering or computer science, or related fields to apply. A strong publication record is encouraged and previous experience in areas such as Neural network vulnerabilities and defenses, Anomaly detection, Adversarial machine learning, Computer vision, and Autonomous Robots is desired. The successful applicant will work on various projects on robotics and computer vision, controls, and machine learning and their security. The work will include algorithm design, prototype implementation (e.g., in MATLAB/Python), deployment to robotics applications; onboard computational hardware using the Robot Operating System), and experimental testing (on unmanned vehicle swarms). A solid competency with the standard implementation tools used in machine learning and embedded systems (e.g., C, C++, Linux, PyTorch, TensorFlow, MATLAB, Python, Robot Operating System) is required. The position is open to PhDs with backgrounds in AI, and/or computer vision and robotics/controls, and with less than 5 years of experience after receiving their PhD. The candidate is expected to work in a highly collaborative multi-disciplinary environment with other post-doctoral associates, PhD and undergraduate students, as well as faculty members (both in NYU Abu Dhabi and NYU New York). It is expected that applicants have a strong publication record in the aforementioned areas. The applicants are also expected to have strong analytical, communication, and writing skills. The Urban Institute (UI) at Singapore Management University (SMU) invites applications for up to three full-time, non-tenurable Research Track faculty positions at the Associate or Full Professor level in Urban Analytics/Innovation or Urban Studies. These are fixed-term appointments for three years in the first instance, with the possibility of renewal. Research Track faculty at SMU are expected to pursue high-quality, impactful research, contribute to interdisciplinary scholarship, and participate in the broader academic and intellectual lives of the UI and SMU. The teaching load is one course per year, and successful applicants will have clear KPIs in terms of publishing and grant-winning. The UI is a university-level research institute dedicated to delivering impact through interdisciplinary research on Asian cities. Its vision is to advance an approach to studying and understanding the city that is human-centred, innovation-driven, and Asia-focused. Guided by four research pillars – Growth, Governance, Systems, Experiences – the UI understands the city in holistic terms, and seeks to develop the understanding and insight needed to make Asia’s cities more liveable, inclusive and resilient places. We are interested in candidates who are able to push the boundaries of urban research in areas such as, but not limited to, urban sustainability, urban systems and infrastructures (including smart cities and AI enabled urban systems), urban liveability and inequality, and/or novel approaches to urban theory development. Description The Khalil Research Group at NYU Abu Dhabi invites applications for a Associate Research Scientist to work on the development and application of covalent organic frameworks (COFs) for advanced water treatment and energy storage solutions. The successful candidate will join a young yet highly energytic team dedicated to leveraging chemistry, reaction engineering, and manufacturing principles to address pressing challenges in the water and energy sectors. The appointed postdoctoral associate will conduct independent research on COF materials, focusing on their synthesis, scalability, and practical application.
