The University of Lahore (UoL) was established in 1999 with the vision of becoming a world-class educational institution fulfilling all the learning needs of the students in Pakistan. The state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure capable of offering innovative and quality training in a conducive and highly developed learning environment have significantly contributed to its current status of being the largest private-sector University in Pakistan. The University became a Degree Awarding Institution (DAI) through a Charter by the Government of Punjab in 2002.
The undergraduate and graduate programs offered at UoL are recognized by the HEC and respective regulatory bodies of Pakistan. The university also has fully accredited programs in Arts & Architecture, Engineering and Technology, Information Technology, Allied Health Sciences, Law, Pharmacy, Medicine and Dentistry, Sciences, Languages, Social Sciences, Agriculture and Management Sciences. UoL has strands of rigorous training, research, and entrepreneurship put in place to foster student potential. In our 24-year journey of academic progress, we have so far produced 65,000+ graduates passed out at 12 formally-held convocations.
University College of Medicine & Dentistry (UCMD) offers one of the country’s most forward-looking educational environments in Medicine & Dentistry. Students are being taught, and highly qualified academicians and clinicians manage patients. Teaching facilities, laboratories, pre-clinical and clinical areas, library, and IT Centre have been designed in a way that students are inspired to be at their best. On the other side, the University of Lahore Teaching Hospital (ULTH) provides fully-equipped and advanced medical services with more than 430 beds.
UoL recognizes the importance of international students to the life of the university and has developed foundations to encourage foreign students. We have the largest international community among private-sector universities in Pakistan, having students from 20+ countries.
