Established in 1993, the University of Jaén is a public institution based in Andalucia, Spain. Its history goes back to the 14th century.
The University of Jaén offers over 40 degrees in Humanities and Education, Experimental Sciences, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Law, and Engineering. They are taught in both English and Spanish. Over 60 exchange programmes are available for students who want to experience another university or culture. The institution also has links with the industry, offering internships in more than 500 companies.
The university has a library with over 480,000 digital publications. Its main campus is based in Jaen. Its two other satellite campuses are located in the smaller cities of Linares and Ubeda - a Renaissance jewel.
Jaen, situated in south-central Spain, is a city of just under 120,000. Its history goes back to the Moorish period, which left the city the largest Arab baths in Spain. Its impressive architecture also includes the 13th century Saint Catherine’s Castle, 16th century Jaen Cathedral, the Museum of Arts and Popular Customs. In October, Jaen hosts its biggest festivity which involves dancing and traditional gastronomy. The Lagarto Rock Festival, Ciclos de Rock and the International Piano Competition Premio Jaen further animate the city.

The Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry invites applications for the position of University lecturer in Systems modelling and simulation, from 1.5.2026 onwards or as agreed. The permanent position will be located at the Department of Agricultural Sciences. The university lecturer strengthens the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry’s research and teaching in systems modelling and simulation within the field of sustainable use of renewable natural resources. The appointee must have demonstrated strong expertise in research, teaching, and supervision of theses in the relevant field. To perform successfully in the position the appointee should have research and/or teaching experience in at least two of the following disciplines: automation and control engineering energy systems engineering industrial and production systems engineering automation and digitalization in industry industrial physics Knowledge of process modelling and design, simulation software, scenario-based modelling and testing, as well as systems thinking, will be considered an advantage. Additionally, experience from collaboration with companies in the forestry, agriculture, food, or energy sectors will be considered beneficial. The university lecturer must have the readiness to acquire research funding. Description The Mathematics Program in the Science Division, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a post-doctoral associate to work on one or more of the following topics: Mathematical Physics, Spectral Theory, Quantum Chaos, Large Graphs and Quantum Walks. The Mathematics Program at NYUAD is quickly expanding, the candidate will find many international experts and postdocs with whom to interact. Weekly seminars are in place across the various research areas represented at NYUAD. The successful applicant will also receive a mobility credit to participate in conferences. Applicants must have a PhD in Mathematics, with a strong background in one of the advertised topics, as well as an excellent academic record.
