Description he Laboratory of Applied Nonlinear Dynamics (L.A.N.D.) within the Division of Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi invites applications for a Research Scientist position, with a start date of January 2026. The successful candidate will have prior research experience, both computational and experimental, in the broad field of nonlinear mechanics. Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in machine learning, wave propagation, metamaterials, and/or fluid–structure interactions. The minimum qualification for this appointment is a PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, with at least 5 years’ experience along with extensive research and publication in well-known journals and conference papers. Strong English communication skills, the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, and demonstrated scientific creativity are essential. The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting computational and experimental research in one or more of the aforementioned areas, preparing manuscripts for publication in academic journals and conferences, assisting in the development of research proposals for funding agencies, presenting research findings to both academic and sponsor audiences, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the laboratory. Description The New York University Abu Dhabi Computational Approaches to Modeling Language (CAMeL) Lab seeks to hire a post-doctoral researcher to work in any of the lab research areas, to be involved in the development of open source tools and resources, and to work on publications related to their work. CAMeL's mission is research and education in artificial intelligence, specifically focusing on natural language processing, computational linguistics, and data science. The main lab research areas are Arabic natural language processing (orthography normalization, grammatical error correction, morphology tagging, syntax parsing, readability assessment), machine translation, and text analytics. Since its establishment in 2014, the CAMeL Lab has produced over 200 publications and 20 language resources and tools. The lab website is http://www.camel-lab.com/. Google Scholar of the lab is at http://scholar.camel-lab.com/. The position will target the rank of Post-Doctoral Associate (within less than 5 years of experience post receiving their PhD). A strong preference is for individuals with (a) computer science or computer engineering degrees with previous experience in natural language processing; or computational linguistics/language technologies degrees; (b) strong programming skills and machine learning experience; and (c) a research publication record appropriate for the hiring rank. Knowledge of Arabic language is preferred, but not required. Previous work on Arabic NLP is preferred but not required.
