Navrongo campus in the upper east region houses the faculty of applied science and faculty of mathematical sciences. Tamale, also in the northern region, is where the school of medicine and health sciences, school of allied health sciences and the faculty of education. And lastly, Wa in the upper west region is home to the faculty of integrated development studies, school of business and law and the faculty of planning and land management. The university also runs a programme called the third trimester practical programme, in which the whole third term is spent doing practical field work in local communities.
