The role We are seeking a researcher to join The Politics of Sustainability in Heritage in the Middle East and North Africa project, contributing to innovative work at the intersection of archaeology, environmental history and contemporary heritage policy. In this role, you will collect and analyse archaeological and environmental data from the Middle East, developing critical insights into premodern landscape change and its relevance for present-day sustainability strategies. Alongside your research contribution, you will co-teach modules in Archaeology and Cultural Heritage. About you You have a PhD in Archaeology, or Cultural Heritage, or Near Eastern Studies, or closely equivalent. You have substantial experience in Landscape Archaeology of the Eastern Mediterranean and/or the Middle East, including archaeological fieldwork. The Department of Electronics and Nanoengineering at Aalto University School of Electrical Engineering invites applications for a tenure-track professor position in Digital Integrated Circuits and Systems Design. The position may be filled at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. We are looking for highly qualified academic candidates in the broad area of digital integrated circuit and system design. Relevant research focus areas include, but are not limited to, hardware accelerators for machine learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI), neuromorphic computing, and digital signal processing; microprocessor technologies; hardware systems for signal processing; novel computer architecture implementations; Compute-in-Memory circuits, and digital system-on-chips (SoC) implementations. Demonstrated experience in digital systems (potentially including mixed-signal components) is considered highly desirable. We particularly value candidates with a record of high-impact publications in top-tier venues that are underpinned by silicon measurement results. As a faculty member, you will complement and strengthen the department's existing expertise in integrated circuit design, which currently emphasises microwave engineering, analog, digital, mixed-signal circuits, and sensor interface electronics, by contributing fresh and bold new research ideas and perspectives. This position provides you with an excellent opportunity to conduct state-of-the-art, hands-on IC design research supported by modern technologies and excellent infrastructure, including IC measurement facilities spanning frequencies from DC to THz. Description The Center of Astrophysics and Space Science, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Junior Research Scientist to work with the Mars Research Group to support scientific investigations of the Martian atmosphere and surface using data from the Emirates Mars Mission (EMM) “Hope” probe. The position contributes to ongoing research, data analysis, simulation efforts, and dissemination of scientific results from Hope observations. The funding for this position is provided by the UAE Space Agency. The successful applicant will; Analyze Emirates Mars Mission (Hope) data: Conduct detailed analysis of atmospheric and surface observations collected by the UAE’s Hope probe to support scientific goals of understanding Martian atmospheric and surface processes. Assist with analysis of additional Mars mission datasets: Examine and interpret complementary data from other Mars missions to strengthen current models and provide comparative insights that enhance research conclusions from Hope observations. Develop Machine Learning methods and run numerical simulations on NYUAD’s High-Performance Computing (HPC) system. Support preparation of scientific manuscripts and presentations: Assist in drafting reports, papers, and conference materials to communicate research findings to the global scientific community. A candidate with a Master’s degree is preferred; however, the minimum requirement is a Bachelor’s degree in physics, computer science, or a related discipline. The role requires strong programming skills in Python, competency in data analysis and scientific computing, and the ability to work with large datasets.
