The University of Colorado Boulder (CU-Boulder) is a public research university in Boulder, Colorado, established in 1876.
Situated at the foot of the scenic Rocky Mountains, students of the university can enjoy incredible views from campus and take advantage of a range of outdoors pursuits (Boulder has 300 miles of bike routes, and a multitude of national parks and forests, as well as downhill and cross-country ski areas).
The university’s motto, from the original Greek, reads ‘Let Your Light Shine’.
Over the years, a number of Nobel laureates, astronauts and MacArthur Fellows have been linked with the university, either as students, researchers or members of the faculty. The American actor Robert Redford, who founded the internationally celebrated Sundance Film Festival, is an alumnus of the university.
The university has been ranked by Forbes as the 18th the most entrepreneurial university in the nation. According to the 2015 US News & World Report, the university also ranks within the top 10 in the fields of aerospace engineering, ceramics, environmental law, geology, physical chemistry and quantum physics.
CU-Boulder describes itself as having one of the most active college campuses in the US, with athletics and outdoors projects playing a central role in the student experience.
Its sports teams are known as ‘Buffaloes’ and the university is a member of the Presidents’ Athletic Conference.
As well as sports clubs, CU-Boulder is home to more than 300 organisations and clubs. Boulder is also served by a plethora of museums and galleries, such as the centrally located Colorado University Art Museum, and students are encouraged to ‘serve the greater good’ through volunteerism and civic engagement.
The university’s alumni network is in excess of 270,000 who comprise an online community and go by the name of the 'Forever Buffs Network.'

Business, Design and Communication Cluster The Business, Communication and Design (BCD) Cluster is one of five academic clusters at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). It offers seven degree programmes, including Accountancy, Aviation Management, Communication and Digital Media, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Integrated Studies in Business and Info-Comm, as well as two Food Business Management programmes offered in partnership with our overseas university partner, the Culinary Institute of America. This collection of business-related programmes provides a rich platform for the cross-fertilisation of ideas among faculty and students. The faculty comprises academically qualified staff with doctoral degrees, alongside seasoned industry practitioners who hold professional and postgraduate qualifications. This combination of academic rigour and practical experience supports a robust applied learning pedagogy. Through applied learning, students are exposed to real-life knowledge and practical examples, thereby enhancing the relevance and impact of their educational experience. Faculty Openings in the Accountancy Programme The Bachelor of Business (Honours) in Accountancy was one of the first three programmes conferred by SIT. The programme is accredited by Singapore’s national accountancy body, the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA), as well as several leading global accountancy professional bodies, including the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Uniquely, the programme is also recognised under the University Affiliation Programme by the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute. This three-year direct honours degree was developed through extensive consultations with industry leaders and accreditation bodies. Learners may choose to specialise in one of five accountancy domains: Applied Finance, Audit, Corporate Accounting, Management Accounting, and Taxation. Job Purpose: The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum. Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry. In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in SIT. With Technical Officers, laboratory safety professionals, and administrators in POD, they jointly develop central policies and processes for the safe and seamless operation of laboratories in SIT. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and deliver Food Technology and related laboratory sessions, practice modules, and applied learning activities. Mentor and guide students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Lead and execute innovation and applied research projects in collaboration with industry partners. Manage, maintain, and optimize laboratory facilities and equipment to support teaching, research, and industry projects. Undertake leadership or coordinator roles, as assigned by the Team Lead, in support of the university’s strategic goals. Uphold and enforce safety standards and practices in all laboratory operations. Job Requirements A good degree in Food Science and Technology or related disciplines such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Chemical Engineering. Master’s degree / PhD would be advantageous. At least 10 years of relevant industry experience with proven expertise in food product development and innovation, covering areas such as R&D, process scale-up, and regulatory compliance. Involvement in market introduction and commercialization of food products will be a strong advantage. Proven track record in working with industry partners, academia, or research institutes to drive food innovation. Experience contributing to or supporting industry or research funding projects and translating outcomes into practical applications is desired. Strong grounding in at least two or more food science domains such as food chemistry, food microbiology, food processing, sensory science, or food engineering. Willingness and ability to expand into adjacent domains as part of role development. Ability to design and deliver teaching and training materials for undergraduate and/or postgraduate modules, with emphasis on practical application. Experience in hands-on lab work, pilot plant operations, or technical training is desirable. Utilize induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) technology to create disease-in-a-dish models for high-throughput screening.
