University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore was set up on a 1300-acre site in 1964, then in 1986 it was divided with the spin-off of UAS Dharwal.
It continues to operate through a network of six affiliates, with colleges of agriculture at Bengalaru, Mandya, Hassan and Chamarajanagara, the college of agricultural engineering and the college of sericulture at Chintamani, which since 1995 has been the only college in Asia offering a four-year degree in sericulture.
Some 60 per cent of undergraduate students receive full tuition fee reimbursement while  around half or postgraduate students reimbursed all of their tuition fees.
Undergraduate degrees are offered in agriculture, sericulture, food technology, agricultural engineering, biotechnology, agricultural business management, and food, nutrition and dietetics.

Description

The Center for Quantum and Topological Systems (CQTS) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD), UAE, invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Associate position in Experimental Quantum Science Instrumentation. The successful candidate will join the Quantum center and will focus primarily on the design, construction, and deployment of advanced instruments for quantum-optical and spin-based experiments. Applicants with a strong experimental background and a demonstrated interest in building new measurement platforms are especially encouraged to apply.

The selected candidate will work in a highly collaborative research environment within CQTS. The central responsibility of the position is instrument building: conceiving, prototyping, assembling, integrating, calibrating, automating, and troubleshooting custom experimental systems. These instruments may combine optical components, laser and spectroscopic methods, spin-control or magnetic-resonance techniques, electronics, data-acquisition hardware, and software control. The candidate will use these platforms to advance research in optics, spin physics, and related areas of quantum science, while collaborating with faculty, researchers, and students across CQTS and NYUAD. The successful applicant will also participate actively in undergraduate training through research supervision, laboratory instruction, and hands-on mentoring in experimental design and scientific instrument development.

Applicants should meet the following qualifications and possess relevant expertise:


	A PhD in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field, with a strong experimental research background.
	Demonstrated experience designing and building scientific instruments, including the integration of optical, electronic, mechanical, and computer-controlled subsystems.
	Hands-on expertise in one or more of the following areas: optical systems, lasers, spectroscopy, quantum optics, spin physics, magnetic resonance, precision measurement, electronics, data acquisition, automation, or experimental control software.
	Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, a commitment to collaborative interdisciplinary research, and an interest in mentoring undergraduate students in laboratory research and instrument development. 


The appointment will be for a period of two years.

The terms of employment include a very competitive salary and attractive additional benefits, including a generous housing allowance, medical insurance with access to world-class facilities, an annual home-leave allowance, and, if applicable, dependent private-school fees. Salaries are tax-free in the UAE (for U.S. tax purposes, the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion may apply). The postdoctoral researcher will have dedicated funds for travel, computing, publications, and other research needs, and will have access to excellent world-class research facilities.

The Centre for Interdisciplinary Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (CIDSAI) at NYU Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a highly motivated Junior Research Scientist to work on topics in the theoretical foundations of data science and AI.

The selected candidate will be part of the Foundations Cluster of CIDSAI and will collaborate closely with Professor Saurabh Ray, and Professor Pierre Youssef. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong mathematical background and expertise in one or more of the following areas:

Description

The Geometry, Topology, and Physics group at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is seeking a Post-Doctoral Associate to conduct research in geometric and topological aspects of physics, including in high energy and condensed matter systems. Applicants with a background in algebraic topology, higher geometry, or mathematical physics are encouraged to apply. Terms of employment include competitive salary and benefits.

Research in Professor Hisham Sati’s group focuses on proper formulations of physical theories, with the development of the mathematical constructions that are needed to provide such descriptions, and uncovering new geometric and topological structures arising from physical phenomena in high energy physics and in condensed matter physics.

The successful candidate will be joining a very active group, which includes Senior Research Scientist Urs Schreiber and several Post-Docs and students, having weekly seminars and several workshops and conferences throughout the year.

Responsibilities of the position include theoretical/mathematical research on the projects of the group, active participation in the group activities, and giving talks internally and externally. There might be occasional light teaching support expected, including assisting in one course per year and possibly mentoring of students.

Candidates must hold a PhD degree in Mathematics or Theoretical/Mathematical Physics with Interest in interdisciplinary research, and with less than 5 years post-reciept of PhD. The ideal candidate would have research experience and interest at the interface of geometry/topology/physics, although having more expertise in one than the other two subjects is also fine.

The University of Sydney's School of Physics is soliciting applications for a Researcher in Astrophotonics and Astronomical Instrumentation at Astralis-USyd.

This exciting role at Astralis-USyd (one of 3 nodes of Australia's Astronomical Instrumentation Consortium, Astralis) is part of a major astrophotonics initiative launched from the University of Sydney as the lead institution in an international collaboration involving several observatory and university partners worldwide. We aim to produce next generation astronomical instruments founded on photonics technologies. Our group is an established world leader in astrophotonics, having pioneered instruments for photonic interferometry, nulling, wavefront sensing and spectroscopy at the world's leading telescopes. The successful candidate will join our vibrant interdisciplinary team tackling some of the biggest challenges in observational astronomy by way of innovative technological solutions.

Your key responsibilities will be to:


	develop and build innovative astrophotonic instruments, and their core technologies, for groundbreaking astronomical science in high-contrast and high-angular-resolution imaging
	implement and test novel instrument concepts based on astrophotonic technologies (including the photonic lantern and photonic integrated optics), by way of computer simulations, laboratory prototyping and on-sky testing
	perform detailed laboratory characterisation of astrophotonic components, including designing robust experimental procedures and analysis of data
	contribute to novel data analysis and/or instrument control code, leveraging advances in machine learning and real-time control
	fabricate robust instrumentation or photonic components for use at 8m-class and future ELT-class observatories
	perform lead roles instrument development projects, including coordinating with scientists, engineers, observatories and other stakeholders to ensure optimum outcomes
	deliver outcomes in a timely way to meet milestones in the funded instrumentation projects.


About you

	a PhD or equivalent experience in physics, optics, photonics or astronomy, or an engineering background with a focus on optical or photonic instrumentation
	demonstrated experience in astronomical instrumentation, or in development of optical/photonic instrumentation, or in development of technologies that underlie astrophotonic applications
	demonstrated skills in devising and performing optical laboratory experiments
	demonstrated skills in scientific / numerical programming and data analysis
	excellent collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
	a keen, self-motivated interest in exploring novel techniques and methods to solve problems.
