With roots dating back to 1993, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia ( UTHM) is based in Johor, Malaysia. The campus is located in Batu Pahat, the southern part of Peninsular Malaysia. Formerly known as Institut Teknologi Tun Hussein Onn (ITTHO) and Kolej Universiti Teknologi Tun Hussein Onn (KUiTTHO), it was granted full university status in 2007. UTHM takes its name from a Malaysian statesman who was the third Prime Minister of Malaysia, leading the country from 1976 to 1981. At UTHM, students can gain undergraduate and postgraduate degrees within a wide variety of faculties, including: civil and environmental engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical and manufacturing engineering, technical and vocational education, technology management and business, computer science and information technology, applied science and technology and technical engineering In UTHM, hostels for students are called Kolej Kediaman (KK) and there are some inside the campus as well as outside. The University provides daily transportation for students staying at University accommodation outside the campus. On campus, students can use modern laboratories and lecture halls. There’s also The Tunku Tun Aminah Library, which is one of the largest academic libraries in Malaysia. The building has four floors accommodating 300,000 books with 40 discussion rooms, two seminar rooms, a postgraduate research room, an auditorium and a 24-hour reading room. UTHM has also established links with other universities in more than 11 countries such as the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia and France. Through these relationships, they take part in academic collaborations, as well as student and staff exchanges.

Description The Water Research Center (WRC) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is seeking to recruit a highly motivated Research Scientist to work on advanced membrane technologies for desalination. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Professor Raed Hashaikeh. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research on functional membrane development at both bench and pilot scales. Applicants with a strong background in membrane science, materials, and desalination are encouraged to apply. Terms of employment include a competitive salary and benefits. The research focuses on the development of advanced functional materials and processes for sustainable water treatment and desalination. This research is conducted within the Water Research Center (WRC) at NYUAD and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams across mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, materials science, chemistry, and physics. The candidate will have access to state-of-the-art research facilities and will contribute to projects spanning fundamental materials development to applied pilot-scale systems. Responsibilities of the position include conducting experimental and/or analytical research on membrane-based desalination technologies (e.g., reverse osmosis, forward osmosis, nanofiltration, membrane distillation), developing novel functional materials, designing and executing lab and field studies, analyzing and interpreting data, contributing to publications and patents, and presenting research findings at meetings and conferences. The candidate will also collaborate with local and international research partners and may participate in limited teaching or mentoring activities. Candidate Qualification and Experience Requirements Candidates must hold a PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field, with at least 6 years of relevant experience in their field (not including the years obtaining the PhD). The ideal candidate will have a strong publication record, including first-author papers, and demonstrated experience in membrane fabrication and characterization. Familiarity with analytical techniques such as XRD, TGA, DSC, DMA, BET, and porometry is highly desirable. Background in analytical or organic chemistry is an asset. Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment. About the opportunity The University's Advanced Analytics, Planning and Enterprise Data (AAP) team has an exciting opportunity for an experienced survey systems and integrations professional to manage the operational delivery and ongoing administration of the University's new student survey platform. This platform supports one of the institution's most significant datasets, the Student Evaluation of Teaching (SET). Working within a high-impact education and insights function, this role is critical in ensuring the stability, governance and performance of the platform during a major institutional transition across 2026-2027. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to directly contribute to academic assurance, learning quality improvement and institutional reporting.
