Department: IT Services Vacancy ID: 040563 Closing Date: 25-Apr-2026 Maynooth University wishes to appoint a Network Specialist (Cyber) at AOII grade on a full-time permanent basis. The Network Specialist (Cyber) will manage, configure and maintain campus network services, ensuring the security and availability of the network service. They will take a hands-on role in the support of the campus network service, administer data centre network services on campus and cloud hosted, and be involved in the future planning and development of services. The role will assist in ensuring that the security of the network is aligned with university policies and will proactively administer security infrastructure including the campus firewall. They will provide direct support and information to users of the network service. This role will report to the ICT Infrastructure Manager with day-to-day work activities set by the Senior AOI staff member within the networks group of the Infrastructure Team. Applicants should be aware that this is a role that supports critical infrastructure located on campus and as such, the successful applicant will be expected to work on campus to discharge their duties and on limited occasions it may also be necessary to work outside normal hours as is typical with roles involving critical infrastructure and services. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical understanding and experience of networking for enterprise data centres, wired and Wi-Fi services and network security technologies with experience working in a physical campus environment. They will be a strong collaborator with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Salary: Administrative Officer II: €46,918 – €66,464 p.a. We are seeking highly motivated post-doctoral researchers of high calibre to join our research program working in the area of electronic textiles. The role is suited to candidates from either academia or industry, with experience of both is an advantage. The position is funded by the EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council) project: SUSTAIN - Sustainable heterogenoUs e-textileS for impercepTible humAn INterfaces. SUSTAIN will tackle fundamental challenges across electronic textile-based sensing, wireless, electrochemical and design technologies with a focus on sustainable developments towards practical user-centric e-textile systems. This position is located within WP4 relating to E-textiles and garment design working under the supervision and direction of WP4 lead Dr Marie O’Mahony. You will be based in the Winchester School of Art (WSA) and join an interdisciplinary University of Southampton research team from across Winchester School of Art and the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences and work with collaborators at the University of Glasgow. Details of the project can be found at www.sustain-pg.org. This role will focus on the research and development of knitted textiles for E-textiles/Wearables. To be successful with your application, you will need to demonstrate:  A PhD or equivalent in an appropriate area related the role. A strong background in knit for E-textiles/Wearables with an understanding or experience of commercialisation desirable. Over 3 years’ experience in using Shima Seiki knitting equipment including excellent programming skills. Knowledge and experience in fibres, yarns, and textiles. A willingness and ability to support the MSc and PhD students. Excellent communication and organisational skills including writing, workshop and events, and a proven ability to work well within multidisciplinary teams. We are seeking an emerging scholar to join Te Puna Haumaru, our Centre for Security and Crime Science, based in Hamilton. This permanent Lecturer role offers the opportunity to develop a high-impact research programme focused on reducing crime and enhancing community safety in Aotearoa New Zealand. Areas of interest include (but are not limited to) cybercrime, violent extremism, organised crime, environmental crime, and crime related to natural hazards. You will contribute to high-quality, research-led teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervise Honours, Masters and Doctoral students, and build collaborative partnerships with academic, community and industry stakeholders. You will play a key role in strengthening the Centre's national and international reputation through publications, research funding, and engagement with policy and practice.
