JOB DESCRIPTION Location: HCMC, Vietnam Department: Vice President Academic, Innovation & Research Report to: Vice President Academic, Innovation & Research, Millennia University POSITION OVERVIEW The Director, Learning Technologies at Millennia Education is a senior role providing strategic and operational leadership for the Universities digital learning and assessment ecosystem. The role oversees the optimization of the learning management system (LMS), integration of educational technologies, student systems and other digital tools that support high quality student experiences. The role ensures that technology-enhanced learning is innovative, inclusive, scalable and aligned with the university's vision and strategy. The Director is required to engage collaboratively with academic leaders, IT services, students and external vendors to deliver modern, seamless digital education experiences for students. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Leadership Lead the development and implementation of the university's Digital Learning Strategy Provide high-level expertise on the identification and implementation of innovative technologies to support learning and assessment across the university Champion student-centred and accessible practices across all technologies Drive the embedding of appropriate AI tools in the curriculum including learning and assessment Lead the implementation of a standard LMS framework for use in all courses of study Advise on best practice and tools for online and hybrid learning spaces and experiences   Faculty and Academic Support Collaborate with Faculties and Departments to identify future focused and appropriate educational technologies for programs of study Provide staff and student support for maintaining high standards for online and hybrid course experiences, advising on modern learning spaces and learning tools Oversee the Learning Management System, multimedia production and other tools such as AI, VR, AR, XR Collaborate with IT and external providers on maintaining and updating digital systems Student Success Contribute to the establishment of Early Student Feedback within the LMS across all courses of study Collaborate to identify mechanisms for data collection on student experiences and student outcomes to support student success and improve retention   Quality Assurance and Data Security Maintain compliance with data governance and cyber security requirements Collaborate with external parties to ensure data security in the Learning Management System REQUIREMENTS Qualification and Experience Post Graduate degree in Educational Technology, Information Systems or a relevant field Extensive experience leading digital learning initiatives in higher education Demonstrated experience in implementing large scale Learning Management Systems (preferably Moodle) Experience in advising on best practice for online and hybrid learning at university level Key skills and Competencies Visionary leadership with a record of successful innovation Familiarity and experience with emerging trends such as AI, Vr, XR, adaptive learning and data driven education Ability to smoothly integrate technology tools into the Learning Management System Demonstrated ability to provide timely support to staff and students Commitment to industry relevant and graduate ready technology and digital skills Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Introduction of a standard Learning Management System used across the university Establishment of a program of study for academic staff digital uplift Inclusion of accessibility standards in course curriculum development Positive student feedback on digital learning experiences including LMS Strong internal stakeholder relationships demonstrated by high service satisfaction levels Alignment of graduate skills to industry requirements Child Protection Statement Millennia Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all the students in our care and expects all applicants, staff, third party providers, volunteers, and visitors to share this commitment. Job Summary: The Biotechnology Engineering Professor will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in biotechnology engineering, conducting innovative research, and contributing to the academic development of students. The individual in this role will engage in curriculum development, mentorship, and academic advising, as well as participate in interdisciplinary projects that advance the field of biotechnology. They will also work to maintain an active research agenda and contribute to the broader academic community. Key Responsibilities: Teaching and Instruction: Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in biotechnology engineering, including but not limited to genetic engineering, bioinformatics, biomaterials, bioprocessing, and environmental biotechnology. With experience of project-based teaching or at least very open to this type of teaching. Create and update course materials, including syllabi, lecture slides, lab exercises, and assessments. Use innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance student engagement and learning. Provide mentorship and academic advising to students, assisting them in their academic and career goals. Supervise and guide student projects, theses, and research. Research: Conduct high-impact research in biotechnology engineering, focusing on areas such as genetic modification, sustainable energy, biomedical applications, environmental biotechnologies, or other emerging fields. Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present research at national and international conferences. Seek funding opportunities through grants, industry collaborations, and other funding sources. Supervise graduate students and postdoctoral researchers involved in research projects. Qualifications: Education: Ph.D. in Biotechnology Engineering, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field. Experience: Strong background in biotechnology principles, engineering techniques, and laboratory methods. Demonstrated expertise in one or more areas of biotechnology engineering (e.g., genetic engineering, bioprocessing, bioinformatics, etc.). A track record of scholarly research and publications in peer-reviewed journals. Previous experience in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students and collaborate with colleagues. Postdoctoral experience or equivalent research experience. Experience with industry partnerships, technology transfer, or applied research. Familiarity with accreditation standards and the process of curriculum development. Previous experience in mentoring graduate students or supervising research projects. Expertise in laboratory management, experimental design, and analysis in biotechnology contexts. Proficiency in relevant software tools for research, data analysis, and teaching (e.g., MATLAB, Python, bioinformatics tools). Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and collaborate across academic and industry sectors. Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
