Universidade José Eduardo dos Santos was named after the president of Angola from 1979 to 2017. It is based in the city of Huambo, 600 kilometres south-east of the capital, Luanda.

It was established in 1962 with courses in veterinary medicine and agronomy and forestry. 

Students can study across faculties of law, agricultural science, economics, veterinary medicine, engineering, medicine and the polytechnic institute.

The 19 degree programmes offered include seven branches of engineering while new courses include a masters in forestry and environmental science and a PhD in food technology.

Key Responsibilities Supervise all aspects of the daily cleaning operation across designated areas. Ensure cleaning services are delivered safely and in line with college and departmental standards. Provide hands-on support when required, demonstrating best practice and setting clear standards for the team. About You: To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience: Essential criteria A good understanding of what is required to be an effective supervisor. Good English language communication skills, including the ability to understand and respond to instructions both written and verbal Good customer service skills with an understanding of customer expectations and how these can be met Supervisory experience. Good cleaning experience with both equipment and machinery  Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure Good teamwork skills. Confident in delivering training sessions to the team. Fractional appointment may be considered for the suitable candidate. Applicants should possess a Registered Nurse qualification registrable with the Nursing Council of Hong Kong and a doctoral degree in Nursing or a related discipline, with local recognition and evidence of national or regional recognition of clinical excellence. They should also have substantial experience in teaching, training and/or curriculum development. The appointees are expected to play a key role in leading the School’s advanced clinical training and laboratory teaching programmes, pursuing new strategic directions for further development of clinical education within the School, etc. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of the gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. The School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences seeks to appoint a Research Assistant for 12 months working 4 days per week on an Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Catalyst-funded project. The aim is to develop a new type of anti-cancer therapy using patented technological approaches from Daresbury Proteins. You will be expected to perform experiments deliver project outcomes and produce reports, manuals and manuscripts for dissemination of findings. We are looking for a PhD-level scientist with strong molecular biology expertise to join our team. You will design and assemble expression constructs, verify sequences, and optimize vector elements like promoters, UTRs, signal peptides, and tags. Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, aseptic technique, and transfection methods is essential. You will run expression screens and analyse results using SDS-PAGE, Western blot, ELISA, and functional assays. Accuracy in documentation, inventory management, and data traceability is key. You will be a self-starter able to work independently, build effective relationships as part of a team and collaborate with others across academic–industry teams. You must have an international research reputation in Chinese language, literary, and cultural studies including a proven track record of securing significant grant funding and leading high quality externally funded research projects.
