The Universidad Internacional del Ecuador is a privately funded university located in Quito, Ecuador. It was founded in 1989 through the establishment of the Jorge Fernández Foundation. The university officially began its operations on 21st October 1992.
The university's main campus, spanning 38 hectares, is situated in the valleys of Cumbayá and Los Chillos, near the centre of Quito. The campus features various facilities, including administrative offices, classrooms, libraries, recreational areas, sports fields, and student residences. Notably, it has a botanical garden, a golf course, and horse stables.
There are also satellite offices in Loja, Spain and Guayaquil, Ecuador extending its educational reach, along with an International Research Center in the Galapagos Islands.

Description The RNA Modifications, Intellect, and NeuroDegeneration (RNA-MIND) Laboratory in collaboration with the Center of Brain and Health of New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a Research Assistant to join our laboratory focused on stem cell biology, neuroscience, and molecular mechanisms of human disease. The successful candidate will work with human cell lines, embryonic stem cells, and iPSCs, including their generation, characterization, and differentiation into cortical neurons and brain organoids. Experience with organoid culture, cryo-sectioning, microscopy, and MEA functional assays is highly desirable. Expertise in CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing (knockout and correction) and in NGS workflows—such as ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, miRNA-seq, single-cell RNA-seq preparation, and CUT&RUN—is strongly valued. Strong grounding in molecular biology techniques (Western blot, Northern blot, immunostaining, PCR/RT-qPCR, cloning, RNA work) is expected. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment that includes collaboration with fellow post-doctoral associates, senior and junior scientists, and undergraduate students. The Counselling and Mental Health Support Service is part of the Students & Education Directorate, a collection of wide-ranging professional services in place to support King’s students and their education. As a directorate we manage the student lifecycle from application to graduation and beyond, to ensure a coherent and seamless student experience and effective administrative processes, working closely with King’s faculties to do so. The Counselling and Mental Health Support Service provides a highly specialised Counselling and Mental Health service to students who are often in distress and require sensitive, timely access to psychological and mental health support. About the role: The role requires Clinical Assessors to carry out psychosocial, mental health assessments to students who have self-referred to the Counselling Service. The role requires highly developed skills and experience in carrying out mental health assessments, identifying risk and implementing safety planning with students. The assessment is also used to assess the suitability of the students access to the Counselling Service which provides a short term, five session, solution focused service model. The role involves referring students to external support where appropriate, for example, crisis mental health services, GP, NHS specialist services, other community services external to King’s. The role also requires Clinical Assessors to become familiar with the internal Student Support Services available to students and refer students appropriately. The Clinical Assessor is involved in triaging students who have self-referred to the Counselling Service. The role also involves allocating students, post-triage, to counsellors and Mental Health Advisors in the team. Full training will be provided, and the Clinical Assessor will join an existing team of triage and allocations specialists within the Counselling and Mental Health Service team. Faculty of Medicine at the University of Helsinki invites applications for a fixed-term position of Doctoral Researcher in the field of Neurovascular Biology from 01.02.2026 until 30.08.2029, or according to agreement. The Korhonen research group at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Helsinki, and the Wihuri Research Institute is recruiting a doctoral researcher for a PhD project in neurovascular biology. Our group studies neurovascular communication and its impact on central nervous system (CNS) function. The PhD project will examine how the vasculature regulates the function of oligodendrocyte lineage cells and CNS health in aging and repair, using advanced in vivo and in vitro models combined with cutting-edge molecular, imaging, and transcriptomic approaches. About the Role The doctoral researcher will work within a multidisciplinary environment integrating vascular biology, neuroscience, and glial cell biology. The work will be conducted at Biomedicum Helsinki on the Meilahti campus. About Us Our guiding mission is to identify and investigate cellular and molecular mechanisms that cause and control inflammation and to relate these findings to human health and disease. We are interdisciplinary in nature; by bringing together different disciplines, we will accelerate our understanding of the common as well as the unique mechanisms that contribute to inflammation-related pathologies. To achieve this, we conduct discovery-led, applied and clinical research (including clinical trials) related to inflammatory joint, lung, gut, liver, kidney and skin disease. We extend these investigations to cancer, pain, neurodegeneration and certain psychiatric and mental health disorders where inflammation is increasingly recognised as an important contributor. We are highly committed to educating, training and inspiring the next generation of scientists and clinicians in these areas of research. About the role The successful candidate will join a team in Dr. Yin Wu’s lab investigating the role of gamma delta T cells in cancer. The post is part of a Wellcome Trust Career Development Award to Dr. Wu investigating the cancer recognition code of gamma delta T cells. The post holder will be required to provide technical support to the experimental work being undertaken in multiple projects within the lab. This may include carrying out experiments, co-ordinating the project, timelines and meetings, and generally ensuring the smooth running of the lab. In addition, the postholder may also be responsible for training PhD and project students in the lab. There is an emphasis on translating findings in collaboration with the wider team which derives funding from multiple sources including Breast Cancer Now and Cancer Research UK. The ideal candidate should have a background in experimental biomedical sciences and good knowledge of immunology, multi-colour flow cytometry, and cell culture. The post holder will receive relevant supervision and training in specialised techniques and will meet with their line manager on a regular basis to review results and plan experiments.
