The Institute for Labor and Social Law is one of Austria's leading teaching and research institutions dealing with key issues in Austrian and European labor and social law. Your personal sphere of influence: As a university assistant prae doc, you will join the research team led by Univ.-Prof. MMag. Dr. Michaela Windisch-Graetz in the field of labor and social law. In addition to your independent research, you will take on tasks such as independently and supportively holding courses and exams, supervising students, and assisting with research, organizational, and administrative activities. Your future tasks: You will actively participate in research, teaching, and administration, which means: You will work on your dissertation and its completion; the conclusion of a dissertation agreement is expected within 12-18 months. You will independently hold courses in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement. You will take on administrative tasks in research and teaching. You will participate in organizational and administrative tasks as well as evaluation measures. You will be responsible for continuing and supporting international collaborations. This is part of your personality: Completed master's/diploma degree in law Excellent knowledge of labor and social law (demonstrated, for example, by a relevant seminar paper or diploma/master's thesis) or related areas of law (in particular civil, European, and constitutional law) Particular interest in European labor and social law or the interfaces with other areas of law Initial experience in academic writing and research methods Institutional experience or experience as a student assistant in a law firm Experience in e-learning IT skills: MS Office Excellent German and English skills You are a team player with social and communication skills. Description The Center for Behavioral Institutional Design, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit several postdoctoral researchers interested in exploring the origins of human behavioral diversity, developing empirically-informed models of human behavior, and designing innovative institutions and policies for promoting social welfare. C-BID offers a vibrant and stimulating research environment, with opportunities to engage in high-impact projects and collaborations. The ideal candidate is highly ambitious, well-trained, self-motivated, hard-working, equally capable of working alone and as part of a team, and holds a PhD in economics or a related field. The position requires expertise in either experimental, empirical, or theoretical methods or, ideally, a combination of these methods. Excellent communication skills in English, the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, and scientific creativity are essential. Successful applicants are expected to publish research in leading peer-reviewed journals in social science or leading interdisciplinary journals, and work both individually and in close collaboration with the C-BID team: Olivier Bochet, Nikos Nikiforakis, and John Wooders. The position provides a salary higher than internationally competitive rates for postdoctoral research positions, in addition to substantial benefits (generous housing, transportation and travel allowances, educational subsidies for children), together with full health insurance and retirement contributions. The UAE does not levy income tax. Appointments will be for two years, renewable for at least one additional year conditional on a satisfactory evaluation of performance. The applied research at SIT brings our rich industry experience and technical skills into our work, creating a better physical environment where learning and innovation take place. We work with teaching programmes and innovation projects to improve the skills of our students and strengthen and energize our industry and the wider community. In collaboration with NEA, the Energy Efficiency Technology Centre (EETC) at Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) aims to be the leading technology innovation centre to support local industries on energy efficiency initiatives. EETC aspires to promote and develop energy efficiency capability and new technologies in the local energy ecosystem for industrial sectors. Key Responsibilities Work with EETC team members and companies on energy assessment projects in industrial systems Assist and/or co-develop training in energy efficiency in industrial systems to adult learners and students Mentor students in energy assessment projects to enhance their technical problem-solving skills. The learning activities may be classroom training, laboratory classes, projects. Development of learning activities / materials and assessment of students may form part of the responsibilities. Support research and industrial project work undertaken by the university, where opportunity arises. Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure smooth execution of the energy audits. For those hired at senior levels, management responsibilities may be included. Manage and administer training programmes at the Centre.  Job Requirements Have hands-on experience in energy assessments and energy efficiency projects in some of the following areas: Industrial systems such as: Chilled Water System, Cooling and Refrigeration System, Mechanical Ventilation System, Heating system, Process Separation, Process Heat Integration, Process Compressor System, Steam and Condensate System, Compressed Air System, Motor Driven System, Power Distribution System and Electric Motors, Lighting System, Renewable Energy System, Process Specific system etc. Have a Degree in Engineering or equivalent. Have at least 5 years of project work experience in energy efficiency. Certified Energy Efficiency Opportunity Assessor or Singapore Certified Energy Manager will be advantageous. Licensed LEW (Technician grade or higher) will be advantageous for one of the positions. *Note: The incumbent will be appointed as Research Fellow / Research Engineer if successful.
