Universidad del Valle, in Cali, Valle del Cauca, Colombia, is the third largest university in Colombia with more than 30,000 students.
Established in 1945, originally as the Industrial University of Valle del Cauca, the university has two campuses.
The main one is referred to as the University City of Melendez and hosts six faculties (engineering, humanities, integrated arts, sciences, social sciences and economics) and two institutes (education and pedagogy, and psychology).
The second campus is located in the San Fernando neighbourhood and hosts administration sciences and health.
The university also has satellite campuses in Buenaventura, Buga, Caicedonia, Cartago, Palmira, Tuluá, Yumbo, and Zarzal, and one campus in the city of Santander de Quilichao.
The university also takes part in the ASCUN tournament and has a male and female varsity team in basketball, billiards, chess, cycling, futsal, judo, karate, rugby, soccer, swimming, taekwondo, table tennis, tennis, track and field, triathlon, beach and indoor volleyball, and weightlifting.
