Interdisciplinary experience and expertise are most welcome and highly valued. Journalism: AI applications in journalism practices, entrepreneurship, business journalism; Documentary: video production, directing, post-production; AI Film: generative AI models, model training, AI video editing and post-production, 3D and animation integration, audience and workflow design; and Global Creative Industries: gaming and digital humanities, visual arts and museum studies, music and performing arts, visual communications.  Requirements Applicants should be highly accomplished professionals from the industry/public sector. They should possess a Master’s degree or above in journalism, communication or related fields, with at least 15 years of professional and practical experience in the journalism, film production or media industries, preferably with 5 of those years in senior management positions, as well as proven exceptional contributions to the industry at national/regional and international levels. Extensive teaching and supervisory experience in media education and curriculum design is required, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in either teaching or conducting training at tertiary or professional level. Proven leadership experience in administration, programme and curriculum development, and experience in China and Asia are advantages. Applicants with lesser qualification and experience may be considered for appointment for Associate Professor of Practice. Duties and Responsibilities The appointee will principally engage in teaching and curriculum development, knowledge exchange and community engagement. They are also expected to remain active in professional, research or creative activities. He/She will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and curriculum development, as well as to undertake administrative duties at the Division and/or School levels. What We Offer A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable. Description The Robot Learning & Control Lab (REAL Lab) at NYU Abu Dhabi is seeking an outstanding Post-Doctoral Associate to contribute to cutting-edge research in robot intelligence, machine learning, and AI-driven manipulation. This position offers the opportunity to work on real-world robotic systems and develop novel algorithms at the intersection of robot learning, control, and AI for physical systems. The postdoc will work on projects focusing on one or more of the following: Robot Learning & Autonomy – Developing algorithms that allow robots to learn (via exploration or imitation) from interaction, adapt to new tasks, and generalize across environments. Dexterous Manipulation – Advancing robotic grasping, in-hand manipulation, and adaptable object handling in complex real-world scenarios, including those involving deformable objects and uncertain conditions.. Semantic Navigation & Mapping – Designing solutions for robot navigation, for Mobile Manipulators, that integrate environmental semantics and spatial reasoning. AI for Physical Systems – Leveraging machine learning and AI to improve performance, safety, and adaptability of robots, autonomous vehicles, and other intelligent machines. Safe and Certified Control for manipulation: Designing control algorithms that ensure passivity, Lyapunov stability, and safety for human-robot collaboration. Qualifications: Applicants must have a PhD in Robotics, Control Engineering, Machine Learning, AI, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field. Strong focus on robot manipulation learning & control, and differential geometry is a plus. Knowledge of safe control methods including Lyapunov stability, barrier functions, and certified learning frameworks. Hands-on experience with robotic manipulators (preferebly Franka Emika R3 robots) and real-world experimentation. Demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation, research-oriented thinking, and a drive to operationalize robotic systems for real-world tasks. Strong publication record in top-tier venues: ICRA, IROS, RA-L, T-RO, IJRR, CoRL, NeurIPS, RSS, CDC, TAC. Proficiency in Python, C++, ROS, and machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary research environment. Description The Center for Quantum and Topological Systems (CQTS) at New York University (NYU) Abu Dhabi, UAE invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Associate position, in the area of Quantum Algorithms. The candidate is expected to conduct research in computer science focusing on the combinatorial aspects of quantum experiments and quantum algorithms for computational geometry problems. Prior expertise in these areas is highly encouraged. The selected candidate will work on cutting edge technologies in an excellent research environment, with a potential to work with a Quantum Computer through our collaboration partners. The Center possesses the unique possibility to investigate cutting-edge interdisciplinary questions within the theoretical and fundamental aspects of Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science and Engineering, from various points of view and different abstraction levels. The selected candidate will also have great opportunities to work on interdisciplinary research problems with other postdocs of the center.
