The Technological University of Pereira is a public research university based in Pereira, Risaralda, Colombia. Founded in 1958 in response to a public call for education outside of the local agricultural needs, Technological University of Pereira started life as an electrical engineering faculty, before mechanical and industrial engineering was added, and eventually an institute of fine arts. Today, the university teaches a range of subjects but specialises in technological engineering and related engineering courses. Some liberal arts programmes including Spanish, literature and philosophy, are also taught at degree level, as is medicine. Research is also a major aspect of the institution, which boasts more than 100 research groups across all subjects. The university is highly academic and has a selective admissions policy, with an average admissions rate of between 40-50 per cent. About 20,000 students are enrolled across undergraduate and postgraduate courses at any given time. Facilities on campus include a large library, a botanical garden, which is used for education and research, and a planetarium and observatory. Away from their studies, students are encouraged to take part in extracurricular activities and social clubs, which include music groups and competitive sports. Pereira city centre is a 2km walk away from the campus, where students can access shopping, music venues and bars. Located in the foothills of the Andes Mountains, Pereira is famous for its coffee plantations and are a popular visitor destination in itself. The surrounding region is a protected UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the “coffee cultural landscape of Colombia”.

The Early Career Awards (ECA) are designed to support Singaporeans who have recently completed their postdoctoral training and prepare them for an academic career at SIT. This award aims to enhance the teaching capabilities of the recipient and help build a strong research portfolio. The Role and the Department A newly created role within the University Finance Team, for a Senior FP&A Manager, responsible for the timely preparation of Budgets and Forecasts at a Consolidated level, covering Income and Expenditure, Balance Sheet and Cashflow Reporting. Prerequisites of the role include forecasting accuracy through robust processes which evaluate and appraise key management information and ensuring data integrity. This position is key to delivering Financial Insight through visual representation and supporting the Universities long term financial ambition of delivering self-serving stakeholder solutions. The role sits within the Financial, Planning and Reporting (FP&R) Team, reporting into the Head of FP&A and working alongside the Reporting Manager and Reporting Analyst, who will provide essential guidance and support to achieve set objectives. Critically, attention will be given to Balance Sheet and Cashflow scenario planning through sensitivity drivers to mitigate financial risk. Other duties will include the execution of improved financial processes, management of the FP&R Calendar and associated tasks with targeted deadlines, analytical solutions, standardising university wide financial templates and stakeholder engagement. This is a role that will realise financial creativity through enhanced financial insight to aid decision making. The Senior FP&A Manager is a collaborative role with touch points across all Finance disciplines; the role is challenging yet rewarding and an opportunity to create best in practice financial solutions.
