Technical University of Darmstadt (TU Darmstadt) can trace its roots back to the early 1800s, when the “Higher Trade School” was opened in the Hessian city. It was in 1877 however, when Grand Duke Ludwig IV of Hesse elevated “Grand-Ducal Hessian Polytechnic School” to a higher education institution, and TU began to take shape. 120 years later, took on its current moniker underscoring its status as a university.

Technology is at the heart of the university’s academic offering, with natural sciences, social sciences and humanities all closely interwoven with engineering. So as to increase its knowledge, the institution has maintained a number of strategic partnerships with companies and research bodies, and the university is a driving force for economic and technological development in the Frankfurt-Rhein-Neckar metropolitan area.

The university’s 112 degree programmes allow its 25,000-plus student body a broad range of fields to study in. The university is set over five locations, with 161 buildings and more than 300,000 square metres of usable space.

Not many universities can boast their own airfield, but since 2005 the university has been the owner of Germany’s oldest airstrip, named after aviation pioneer August Euler. It is used for courses from aircraft engineering to aeronautics.

TU’s research profile, which is a core part of its mission, is based on several areas that have societal applications such as cyber security, future energy systems, and computational engineering.

Its alumni have carried on this civic engagement tradition with Peter Grünberg winning the Nobel Prize for physics in 2007. Günter Behnisch, a professor of Architectural/Building Design at TU Darmstadt, was the architect who designed the Olympic Park for the 1972 Munich Games. Bernhard Schlink, academic and award-winning author of The Reader, was a research assistant at the institution.

Working at the intersection of technology and business, this role acts as SNAIC’s front-facing dealmaker, translating market demand, ecosystem signals, and AI innovation into viable partnerships across areas such as Generative AI, Large Language Models, Computer Vision, Digital Twins, and Multimodal AI. Success in this role requires strong commercial instincts, the ability to engage both technical and executive stakeholders, and the discipline to drive opportunities from early exploration through signed agreements and delivery. Key Responsibilities  1. Industry Engagement & Business Development Identify, qualify, and engage potential industry, government, and ecosystem partners for applied AI collaboration opportunities. Drive the deal process from initial discussion through to agreement. Manage active partnership accounts and track delivery milestones to ensure commitments, timelines, and outputs are met. 2. Marketing, Outreach & Positioning Contribute to industry events, workshops, showcases, and demos that strengthen SNAIC’s visibility and lead generation. Support development of partnership assets such as case studies, pitch decks, project proposals, and success stories. Work with internal teams to amplify SNAIC’s applied AI capabilities to targeted sectors and communities. 3. Data, Reporting & Pipeline Management Maintain an up-to-date CRM pipeline of leads, partners, proposals, and project statuses. Generate periodic dashboards and management reports on engagement performance, deal progress, and partnership outcomes. Ensure data accuracy and traceability across all stages of the partnership lifecycle. Job Requirement  Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Data/AI, or a related field. 2–5 years of experience in business development, partnerships, innovation projects, or roles involving both technical and commercial stakeholders. Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ideally in a cross-functional environment. Working understanding of AI concepts, use cases, and industry trends, with interest in areas such as Generative AI, LLMs, Computer Vision, or Digital Twins. Exposure to NVIDIA’s AI ecosystem (e.g., Omniverse, CUDA, DGX, NGC) is a plus, but not required. Strong communication and relationship management skills, able to engage industry partners and internal stakeholders confidently. Good writing and presentation abilities for proposals, pitch decks, and briefing materials. Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple partnership pipelines, timelines, and reporting needs. Comfortable using CRM tools, dashboards, or project tracking systems. Key Competencies Understanding of AI and emerging technologies. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, able to liaise confidently with both engineers and executives. Strong proposal writing, pitch deck creation, and presentation skills; able to tailor messaging for both technical and executive audiences. The Finnish Museum of Natural History LUOMUS at the University of Helsinki invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher, IsoMuseomics for a fixed-term period of three years. The work will be based at the Finnish Museum of Natural History LUOMUS at the University of Helsinki, Helsinki, Finland. The postdoctoral researcher will join the IsoMuseomics project, and work under the supervision of Kyung Min Lee, the Head of DNA Laboratory and University Researcher. This position is part of Lee’s four-year Academy Project, funded by the Research Council of Finland. The successful candidate is expected to start ideally by September 2026. About the position The IsoMuseomics project aims to trace genomic changes across a wide time span - up to 200 years - to understand how environmental changes have impacted their genomic diversity. The project focuses on Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths) as model system, that are currently threatened or vulnerable, which serve as important ecological indicator. By analysing historical specimens from museum collections (dried and pinned specimens), we can investigate how these changes are encoded in their DNA, across both spatial and temporal scales. The majority of genomic data will be generated from historical museum specimens, which typically yield highly fragmented DNA. The postdoctoral researcher will be primarily responsible for:  Designing and analysing genomic datasets derived from fragmented whole-genome data Conducting genome assemblies and SNP calling Performing phylogenomics and population genomic analyses Contributing to manuscript writing Qualifications  The position requires:  A doctoral degree relevant to the project (e.g., biology, genomics, evolutionary biology) Less than seven years since obtaining the PhD  Ability to conduct independent scholarly work Strong collaboration and communication skills Teaching skills necessary for the position  Excellent written and spoken English skills  Highly valued qualifications: Experience working with highly fragmented genomic data and museomics Strong bioinformatics skills Proficiency in command-line scripting and programming Knowledge of phylogenomics and population genetics Why conduct a postdoctoral project at the University of Helsinki? Clinical research in Mood Disorders The Faculty of Medicine and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust are collaborating in a clinical research study, led locally by Professor David Baldwin, investigating the effects of transcranial direct current stimulation in patients with depression. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with strong research and organisational skills to develop their expertise. The post involves undergoing training in certain psychopathological rating scales, providing study information and assessing potential study participants, monitoring participant progress during the study, entering data into on-line systems, assisting with study awareness-raising, and attendance at local and national research team meetings. SOLES has an international reputation for education and research, with well-funded external research collaborations across industry. The University of Sydney has significant strengths in plant breeding, crop production, plant biology and genetics, and agricultural robotics. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated computational biologist to join a multidisciplinary research team investigating plant-pathogen interactions through integrative computational modelling. You will develop and apply quantitative and data-driven models to study protein interactions and their context-dependent behaviour, linking computational predictions with condition-specific biological responses. You will have access to large-scale biological datasets, high-performance and cloud-based computing resources, and work in close collaboration with experimental biologists and external computational partners. The successful applicant will demonstrate clear potential to become a leader in their field, with a strong research trajectory focused on computational modelling of molecular interactions and regulatory processes to generate mechanistic insight into host-pathogen biology. Your research interests will complement and/or enrich existing strengths in the Institute and School in plant breeding, molecular biology, genetics and pathology. You will contribute to current research programs, particularly in resistance gene and avirulence gene cloning, functional studies, and host-pathogen interactions, and articulate a clear vision for collaboration within SOLES, across the University of Sydney and beyond. Your key responsibilities will be to: develop and apply computational models to investigate protein-protein and protein-ligand interactions in plant-pathogen systems integrate diverse omics datasets to infer molecular interactions and regulatory processes design, implement and maintain reproducible, scalable computational pipelines for large biological datasets optimise workflows for high-performance computing (HPC) and cloud-based environments collaborate closely with experimental research teams to translate model outputs into testable biological hypotheses contribute to scientific documentation, including high-impact publications, research grant applications and reports present research findings at national and international scientific conferences.
