The Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanisation Engineers was founded in 1923 and has since been through a range of name and role changes. It has operated under its current name since 2017. The university offers courses in in engineering (irrigation, water resources, environment, electrification and automation, agricultural mechanisation), land management and agricultural economics, and management and marketing. There are seven divisions which include hydromelioration; hydrothechnical construction; agricultural mechanisation; mechanisation of hydromeliorative works; energy supply of agriculture and water resources; land management resources; organisation and management of water resources). These seven divisions cover 36 separate departments. Degree programmes now offered across 19 bachelor of science programmes, 16 master of science programmes and 13 PhD programmes. It aims to be "a first-class regionally recognised academic and research institution known for its top programmes in engineering, land management and industrial economics". The student's town was established in 1987 and is home to many facilities including the student dormitories. Its alumni have played significant national roles since independence. Shavkat Mirzoyeyev, who studied agricultural mechanisation from 1976 to 1981, was prime minister from 2003 to 2016 and has been president since 2016. His leading lieutenants included Rustam Azimov, minister of finance from 1998 to 2000 and from 2005 to 2016 and deputy prime minister from 2005 to 2017. The university is located in the Uzbek capital of Tashkent which is among the hubs of Central Asia and a historic Silk Road junction. The university underwent significant change post-independence, in particular expanding Uzbek teaching and translating course literature into the national language. Courses are offered in Uzbek, Russian and English.

We have an exciting opportunity within the FAH Faculty Operations Services for a Research and Enterprise Manager. In this role, you will lead and manage the Faculty’s research and enterprise administration, ensuring effective delivery of compliance, data governance, and implementation of strategic support for REF, KEF and Knowledge Exchange and Enterprise (KEE) activity. The role provides specialist professional advice, supports key processes and systems, and works closely with the Associate Dean for Research and Enterprise and senior colleagues to implement the Faculty’s Research and Enterprise strategies. Description The Materials NMR Lab at New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to appoint a Post-Doctoral Associate to conduct research in solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, materials synthesis, computational chemistry, and advanced structural characterization of functional materials. The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing projects focused on understanding structure–property relationships in molecular solids, porous materials, pharmaceuticals, organic materials, and energy-related materials. The successful candidate must hold a PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related discipline, within less than 5 years post receiving their PhD. The candidate should have a strong research background in at least one of the following areas: solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, materials synthesis, computational chemistry, NMR crystallography, or advanced structural characterization of materials. The candidate is expected to have demonstrated experience in conducting independent research, designing experiments, analyzing scientific data, and preparing manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals. The candidate should be capable of contributing to multidisciplinary research projects involving experimental spectroscopy, materials characterization, and computational modeling. Prior experience with solid-state NMR spectroscopy, including magic-angle spinning experiments, multinuclear NMR, quadrupolar nuclei, or two-dimensional NMR methods, is highly desirable. Experience with computational methods such as density functional theory calculations, geometry optimization, and prediction of NMR parameters will be considered an advantage. The candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organizational ability, and the capacity to work effectively in a collaborative academic research environment.
