This new role is central in supporting the smooth operation of the City Campus, including playing a key role in supporting key campus governance committees, along with supporting campus operations, maintaining consumables and facilities, coordinating ad-hoc teaching space bookings, coordinating maintenance requests, and assisting with events and campus activations. This role is a balance of campus operational support while providing reliable backup support for frontline student services, offering high quality customer service and warm referrals when needed. Some key responsibilities include: Providing a range of operational support services to ensure the smooth, day-to-day functioning of the City Campus. Providing a range of event support services within a matrix structure to ensure the timely and effective management of events and related logistics. Providing administrative and operational support to key City Campus governance committees including preparing agendas and minutes, scheduling meetings, distributing documentation and assisting with follow-up actions. The incumbent may be required to work within the City Campus hours of operation, these being Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm. Hours worked may be undertaken on a rostered arrangement. About You As the City Campus Services and Operations Officer, you will have experience in a high-volume, fast paced, demanding frontline service and/or administrative environment. You are a proactive individual, taking the initiative and actively seeking to improve processes and procedures to elevate our campus and overall customer experience. Description The Center for Sand Hazards and Opportunities in Resilience, Energy, and Sustainability (SHORES) and the Division of Engineering, New York University Abu Dhabi, seek to recruit a Post-Doctoral Associate to work on a fascinating project focused on the geomechanical modeling for energy applications. The position will be directly supervised by Professor Mostafa Mobasher and will involve strong collaboration with the SHORES multidisciplinary research teams. The project will be focused on advanced modeling of coupled fracture/damage of geomechanical materials when subjected a range of multiphysical loading regimes including hydraulic, thermal, and chemical processes. The direct applications of these research will be aimed at enhanced modeling of hydraulic fracturing and carbon sequestration. The project activities will involve the development of the theory and implementation of the advanced mechanics and numerical models as well as constitutive model calibration and validation based on physical experimental data. Required Qualifications: A successful applicant must have a PhD in Engineering Mechanics, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering. Applicants are expected to demonstrate research experience in the fields of computational mechanics and computational geomechanics.
