Location: Bedford Park / Kaurna Country View Position Description About the Role We are offering a position as a Cyber Security Analyst within our Information and Digital Services Portfolio. Reporting to the Deputy CISO, your key responsibilities will include collaborating closely with our Security Operations Centre (SOC) to monitor and respond to cyber threats in real-time, ensuring the protection of the University's information assets and critical systems. You will play a vital role in the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of security platforms such as advanced email filtering, firewalls, intrusion prevention/detection systems, anti-malware, VPN, and host protection. You will also be responsible for the development and participation in cyber projects, providing technical leadership, and implementing technological advancements in information security. Your duties will involve managing the University's proactive security monitoring systems to identify and mitigate incidents and security weaknesses, reducing potential impacts on the wider University. You will maintain configuration control of security infrastructure and oversee monitoring controls applied to the centralised network and systems supporting the University's operations. Additionally, you will provide technical security advice and guidance on IT projects, and develop reports to keep the group and wider stakeholders informed of information security threats and planned equipment or software changes that could impact system and network security and availability. Some of the key responsibilities of the position are: Configuring, deploying and maintaining new and existing security platforms, including advanced email filtering, firewall, intrusion prevention/detection systems, anti-malware, VPN, and host protection. Providing technical advice on the identification, review and implementation of technological developments in information security and developing reports as necessary to keep the group and wider stakeholders apprised of information security threats and planned equipment or software changes that could impact system and network security and availability. Optimizing the configuration and refining the inputs to the University's proactive security systems to ensure that incidents and security vulnerabilities are promptly identified and mitigated, minimising their potential impact on the broader University community. Supporting and implementing configuration of security infrastructure and controls applied to the centralised network and systems supporting the operation of the University. This includes incident response activities, where you will work closely with the SOC, ensuring effective detection and response to potential threats. A more comprehensive list of duties is available from the Position Description About You To be successful, you can demonstrate: Appropriate tertiary qualification in Information Technology or relevant technical area, and / or equivalent relevant experience in an IT environment. Good knowledge and experience in cybersecurity with experience implementing, managing, configuring and monitoring hardware (such as firewalls, intrusion prevention/detection systems, anti-malware, security information and event monitoring solutions). Proven ability to analyse issues, solve problems and make decisions by applying sound judgements, including the implications of proposed security solutions on business processes and existing networks and infrastructure. Exceptional communication skills and a commitment to a high level of client service, with the ability to in provide technical security advice and guidance in relation to IT projects and to explain complex technical or security issues to ensure that non-technical stakeholders understand the risk/security trade-offs Previous experience in performing support and administration tasks to manage cyber security in the context of a complex environment, with particular reference to balancing cybersecurity with objectives of privacy, academic freedom, intellectual property, open systems and enterprise networks. Description The Center for Cyber Security (CCS) at New York University (NYU) Abu Dhabi, UAE invites applications for a Research Associate / Postdoctoral Associate position, in the area of Quantum Computing Security. The candidate is expected to do cutting-edge research in multiple of the following areas, therefore prior expertise in these topics are highly encouraged: Quantum Machine Learning (QML), Machine Learning on Quantum Computers, Security of Quantum Circuits, Design Automation and Tools for Quantum Circuits, Robust and Efficient Mapping of Quantum Algorithms on Quantum Machines, Quantum Noise-Aware Optimizations for QML, QML Security, Error Correction for Quantum Computing, Secure Quantum-Classical Systems, Privacy-Preserving Quantum Computing, and Fingerprinting for Quantum Computing. Strong work experience with some quantum machines and development environments like QiSKit and PennyLane are highly appreciated. The selected candidate will work on cutting-edge technologies in an excellent research environment, with a potential to work with a Quantum Computer through our collaboration partners, as well as in collaboration with other industrial partners. The Center possesses the unique possibility to investigate cutting-edge interdisciplinary questions within the theoretical and fundamental aspects of Computer Science and Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics, from various points of view and different abstraction levels. The selected candidate will also have great opportunities to work on interdisciplinary research problems with other postdocs of the center. We also expect successful applicants to do cutting-edge interdisciplinary research and work in synergy towards improving the collaborations and connections among the different areas. Ability to work and connect to more than one topic and having interdisciplinary perspective is an advantage, but disciplinary applications will be considered as well having a focus and in-depth expertise in a particular topic mentioned above. Applicants should have a PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering. Expertise in Quantum Physics is a plus point. Applicants with a PhD in Quantum Physics are also welcome, but they should have a focus on Quantum Circuits, Quantum Algorithms, and preferably expertise in developing Software for Quantum Machines.The appointment will be for a period of two years, and extensions to longer terms are possible upon review. The terms of employment for these positions include a very competitive salary with additional attractive benefits, including generous housing allowance, medical insurance with access to world class facilities, annual home leave allowance, and (if applicable) dependent private school fees. Salaries are tax-free in the UAE (for US tax, the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion can be used). The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences is seeking to appoint a motivated individual to join the Medical Programme Professional Service Team. The post holder will work closely with the Senior Administrative Officer and Medical Programme Manager to support them in delivering assessment and progression processes and for the School of Medicine’s Graduate Medicine programme. The role This role will focus on managing and implementing processes in relation to all aspects of student assessment and ensuring accurate records and data are managed and in line with University and GMC regulations. The postholder is expected to build a knowledge of the systems and processes involved in order to meet expectations for recording and tracking student progress. About you The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate strong technical and IT skills with a focus on reporting data and supporting the development of bespoke systems aimed at monitoring and recording student data. They should be a proactive individual, competent in the use of IT with an attitude open to change and working independently. The ability to work to a high level of accuracy is also essential.  The role will require excellent interpersonal and organisational ability demonstrating adaptability and flexibility with regards to changing workloads and priorities. The role will involve working with a range of staff across the School of Medicine and wider university and to adapt and support a number of professional administrative activities involved in the BMBS Graduate Medicine programme.
