About SUNY Morrisville

Basic information and contact details for SUNY Morrisville

institution

Morrisville State College is part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system. It is located in the geographical centre of New York State in the rural town of Morrisville. Its location makes it perfectly suited for education in fields such as agriculture and equine studies, but it has a wide offering of almost 80 different majors across a range of subjects.

The college is best known for teaching in business and entrepreneurship, agriculture and sustainability, hospitality and restaurant management, criminal justice, equine science, equine rehabilitation and automotives.

Students learn in small classes with heavy emphasis on practical, real world experience. The college has a “living classroom” ethic, through which students are encouraged to put their learning into practice. Most Bachelor’s degrees end with a semester-long internship with a relevant employer.

The college offers an associate degree in equine racing management, and is the only college in the United States with its own harness racing rack on campus. It also has its own equine rehabilitation centre. The college’s love of horses is reflected in its athletics team name: the Mustangs.

Morrisville is one of the most diverse of SUNY’s colleges.

More than 40 clubs are active at Morrisville, including fraternities and sororities, faith groups, cultural clubs, interest groups and more. There are 17 intercollegiate sports teams and 12 intramural leagues, with tournaments and events throughout the year. Students can also get a fitness centre membership to take part in activities such as tai chi, hula hooping, zumba and pilates.
