Saint John Fisher College is a private, Catholic college founded in the city of Rochester, New York state in 1948. The college was originally set up by members of the Basilian Fathers (a community of priests and laypeople who focus on education and evangelization) with the help of the Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rochester, James E. Kearney. The college was run by the church until 1968 when it became an independent institution. The first women were enrolled in 1971.

Today Saint John Fisher is a busy private liberal arts college in the Catholic tradition of higher education. The college is home to almost 4,000 students studying a wide range of subjects at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The college offers in the region of 35 undergraduate majors with a variety of masters and doctoral programs also available. The college’s academic programs are divided up into five schools: the School of Arts and Sciences, the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. School of Education, the School of Business, Wegmans School of Pharmacy and Wegmans School of Nursing.

The college is home to 23 varsity teams and the 2,500 seat Growney Stadium hosts Fisher’s football, field hockey, soccer, and lacrosse teams. The college campus extends over wooded areas and pleasant lawns to the south-east of the city of Rochester. The college’s academic and residential buildings are all on the campus as well as dining facilities, a library and the college chapel. There are also numerous sporting facilities including American football and football stadiums, a baseball field and softball square.

About the role The postdoctoral position will be an integrative part of an exciting ERC project dedicated to biosynthesize and electrochemically characterise a series of metalloenzymes as the central target of the last WP3 of the ERC project. The postdoc will have to also work on electrode chemical modifications and be able to work on computational modelling of the electrode/protein bioiterface. We are seeking highly motivated postdoctoral candidates willing to fully commit to an exciting, cutting-edge project. The skills we are looking for are, but not limited to:  Preparation of enzymes using recombinant methods; synthesis, purification and modification. Experience in bioelectrochemistry and biosensing approaches using voltammetry, chronoamperometry and impedance spectroscopy. The BRIDGE-AI doctoral network is hiring 15 ambitious doctoral candidates at various locations in Europe (Finland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Austria). The aim of the network is to develop new and trustworthy AI methods for longitudinal neuroimage analysis, helping clinical experts assess temporal changes in patients with chronic brain disorders. Your profile: A MSc degree in physics, computer science, electrical engineering or a similar degree. Candidates who expect to obtain their MSc degree in the near future are also welcome to apply. Clinical Research Associate in the Department of Psychosis Studies

About us The Department of Psychosis Studies is the world’s leading department for research into psychotic disorders by high impact publications. It is part of the IoPPN; the largest academic community in Europe devoted to the study and prevention of mental illness and brain disease. The IoPPN produces more highly cited outputs (top 1% citations) on psychiatry and mental health than any other centre (SciVal 2021). The IoPPN's greatest strength is the interdisciplinary nature of both its research strategy and educational activities, providing unique opportunities for students and staff. About the role The postholder will join exciting new studies in the group. These include testing the synaptic hypothesis of psychosis and the role of excitation-inhibition balance in psychotic disorders and testing how the first non-D2 antipsychotics work. The studies involve in vivo imaging with cutting edge PET and fMRI techniques and clinical trials. The postholders will be responsible for recruitment and clinical assessment of participants with psychosis, including clinical rating scales and delivering a high level of care to research participants. They will be responsible for organising and acquiring imaging and other measures and producing scoping literature reviews. The postholders will be responsible for ensuring high quality research governance across projects, helping to analyse, interpret and publish the results of projects, as well as helping to support students who will be working on the projects. The postholders will be responsible for maintaining accurate records within a database that can be shared with members of the wider research team. They are also responsible for organising and overseeing weekly case and control tracking meetings, as well as quarterly steering group meetings. The postholders will be responsible for ensuring effective collaborative relationships with other research worders on the project, as well as with local clinical services and researchers on other related projects. The postholders will be responsible for contributing to knowledge exchange and dissemination activities such as organising and participating in scientific meetings and to support all other aspects of the projects as required. There will also be opportunities to get clinical experience. This is a full time (40 hours per week) however the department can consider part-time applications.
