March Recruitment About the Role We are seeking an experienced, forward-thinking Clinical Tutor (Developmental role) to play a pivotal role in the strategic leadership, delivery, and enhancement of our NHS-commissioned Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy). This senior post strengthens UEL’s position as a leading provider of postgraduate clinical psychology training and contributes directly to regional workforce development, health innovation, and interdisciplinary research. You will work closely with NHS Trust partners, senior academic colleagues, and external stakeholders to ensure the programme continues to meet the highest professional, clinical, and academic standards. Key Responsibilities As Senior Clinical Tutor & Academic Lead, you will: Strategic Leadership & Programme Development Provide senior academic leadership within the DClinPsy programme, contributing to long-term planning, curriculum innovation, and quality enhancement. Lead on key strategic initiatives aligned with UEL’s priorities in health innovation, community engagement, and EDI. Strengthen partnerships with NHS Trusts, professional bodies, and external agencies to support workforce development and training excellence. Clinical Training & Academic Delivery Act as senior tutor for a designated year group, with oversight of trainee progression, wellbeing, and professional development. Lead and deliver advanced teaching across clinical skills, professional development, and specialist modules. Essential Criteria Qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology recognised by the BPS as conferring eligibility for Chartered Status. HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist. Significant post-qualification experience within the NHS. Strong understanding of current professional issues in UK clinical psychology and NHS service delivery. Experience teaching, supervising, and assessing at the postgraduate level. Excellent communication, leadership, and report-writing skills. Desirable Criteria Research experience, ideally within NHS or applied clinical settings. Experience supervising doctoral-level research. Your personal sphere of play: Your future position is located at the Department of Economic and Social History, which is part of the Faculty of Historical and Cultural Studies. The department has an international profile in social history, economic history, historical anthropology, and the history of knowledge. Trans-epochal and transregional approaches as well as interdisciplinary perspectives on economies and societies are part of its intellectual culture. Your immediate work partners are conducting research on the cultural history of the social in a broad sense, including the history of capitalism (in particular money and debt as social relations), history of the psychological disciplines, colonial history and decolonization, social movements, and the relation between history and social theory. Your own work is focused on the social and cultural history of Europe, or of Europe in the world, 19th to 20th century. A focus on one of the following areas is desirable though not required: History of capitalism, history of the psyche and the self, colonial history and decolonization, gender history, social movements, Austrian or Habsburg history. Important are independence as a researcher and capability for theoretical reflection as well as an interest in interdisciplinary conversations. Within the Faculty, you are involved in the focal points “Historical and Cultural Perspectives on Economy and Society” or “Global History.” Your future tasks: Active participation in research, teaching, and administration. This means: Your support the Professorship in “Cultural and Social History, 19th-20th Century” You work on your further academic qualification with a book project (second book, possibility to prepare and complete a Habilitation). You broaden your independent research profile with publications and presentations. The appointments will be made at the rank of Assistant Professor (Teaching) (tenure-track) in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The anticipated start date is 1 July 2026, or a mutually agreed-upon date. Qualifications and requirements Applicants must hold a DVM (or equivalent) or a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline. The successful candidates will contribute to laboratory-based and didactic teaching in veterinary anatomy and may contribute to other teaching activities in the DVM programme as required. Experience teaching large undergraduate cohorts in a laboratory setting is expected, and candidates should provide evidence of effectiveness in this context. Expertise in the comparative anatomy of common domestic species is required. UCVM's anatomy instruction is supported by a team of technicians and a fully equipped laboratory capable of producing teaching specimens using a variety of preservation techniques including large format plastination Experience in course leadership, development and management is an asset, and experience in supervising technical staff activities and creating teaching specimens is highly desirable.
