South East European University is a private-public non-profit institution. It was founded in Tetovo, North Macedonia in 2001 to provide Albanian-language study at university level.
The university, which specialises in socio-economic sciences, offers degrees at bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral level. Courses are offered in three languages – English, Albanian and Macedonian – reflecting the university’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
It has seven faculties: contemporary sciences and technologies; languages, cultures and communication; law; contemporary social sciences; business and economics; health sciences; and technical sciences. Among the almost 100 courses on offer are: finance, banking and accounting; marketing; business analytics; energy, economy and environment; business administration; green economy and sustainable development; computer sciences; international relations; political sciences; psychology; social work and social policy; nursing; languages and literature; educational management and leadership; and law.
On campus is an innovation centre to support entrepreneurial students and start-ups. Agreements with private and public enterprises give students opportunities to learn and employ their skills in the real world.
There are two research institutes. The Max Van der Stoel University for Research coordinates political, legal and social scientific projects, while the Institute for Ecology and Health focuses on subjects such as ecological management and health promotion.
The university has partnerships with universities in North Macedonia as well as with others beyond its borders. SEEU is part of the Challenge EU Alliance, a European Commission programme to make it easier for students, faculty and researchers to study and work across borders. SEEU has more than 100 Erasmus+ university agreements.

You will also benefit from being a fellow of the Vienna Doctoral School in Physics (VDSP), being part of a thriving community with more than 100 quantum scientists on the premises, about 300 quantum researchers in Vienna. The Walther Group unites an international team of scientists who are passionate about research in quantum optics, quantum information and quantum technologies. Our 40 researchers, from undergraduate students and PhD candidates to PostDocs, are working together on mostly experimental topics in small subgroups. Teamwork is a key factor to our group’s success. Your future tasks: You will actively participate in research, teaching & administration.
