Spread across a 611 acre campus in Western Pennsylvania, Slippery Rock University (SRU) is a higher learning institution offering both undergraduate and graduate programmes. Founded in 1889, SRU has been offering degree courses since 1960.
At the modern day SRU there are more than 150 majors and minors available to undergraduate students, taught at the colleges of business, health, education, and liberal arts. The Military Science course is attached to an ROTC minor in Leadership, preparing students to become officers of the United States Army, entering active duty or a reserve unit upon graduation. The Department of Dance within the Liberal Arts college contains guest artist residencies every semester, allowing students to network with esteemed professionals in the field.
SRU also offers over thirty graduate degree programmes and two doctoral courses, in physical therapy and special education, which is also taught as an endorsement course with a focus on children with autism. Graduate courses can be taken both on campus and online.
As part of the many university-run housing opportunities is the R.O.C.K apartment complex, which provides upper-class students with common living areas, private bedrooms, and campus wide Wi-Fi. For activities on site the Performing Arts Series has been bringing great performers to SRU campus for over ten years, the Department of Theatre puts on two shows every semester, and the annual Kaleidoscope Arts Festival acts as a celebration of all arts and culture available at the university.
Athletics teams compete in the NCAA Division II in the university colours of green and white. In 1995, Slippery Rock women’s became the only team outside of California to win an intercollegiate women’s water polo championship, a record held for over 20 years.

Te Puna Haumaru - Centre for Security and Crime Science invites applications for a permanent Lecturer in Psychological Criminology. This is an exciting opportunity for an emerging scholar to contribute to research and teaching that improves community safety and reduces crime in Aotearoa New Zealand and beyond. Psychological Criminology at Waikato is a multidisciplinary field focused on the psychology of criminal behaviour, including the development, maintenance, and reduction of involvement in criminal lifestyles and crime events. We are particularly interested in applicants whose expertise aligns with effective crime prevention interventions, restorative and alternative justice approaches, or the treatment and management of people within correctional and criminal justice systems. However, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates who can contribute to the Centre's values and vision. You will develop and maintain an active research programme producing high-quality outputs in reputable journals and contributing meaningfully to policy and practice debates. You will enhance the reputation and visibility of Te Puna Haumaru and the University through publications, conference presentations, professional engagement, and collaborations with academic, community, iwi, and industry partners. The role includes research-informed teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels within crime science, forensic psychology, security and crime science, and psychology. You will supervise honours, masters, and, over time, doctoral students, and contribute to curriculum development and paper coordination. Salary will be in the range of $92,603 to $110,407 per year based on skills, knowledge, and experience brought to the position. The purpose of the job is to assist in the final stage of an EU funded project that centres on the analysis of host-pathogen interaction mechanisms of viral infections and vaccination. Specifically the project investigates novel vaccines against AHSV. The postholder needs to be able to execute research project driven objectives with little advice based on their own experience and deliver against set target dates. The Role and the Department The Research Operations Team is part of Research and Innovation Services (RIS) and provides comprehensive support to academic and PSS colleagues across the lifecycle of a research project.
