Mō tēnei tūranga mahi - About the role We seek a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher to work primarily on a Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) research project entitled 'New Zealand precision fermentation: from local bioresources to high value proteins'. We are seeking expertise in precision fermentation of metabolites, with demonstrated experience in metabolic pathway engineering, transmembrane protein expression, and functional characterisation, to contribute to cutting-edge research at the interface of biotechnology and sustainable bio-based production. This in-person role is based at the Massey University Palmerston North campus, located in the heart of a vibrant, welcoming city known for its affordability, easy commute, quality schools, and lively arts and recreation scene. Mōu - About you The successful candidate will have completed a PhD in industrial biotechnology, synthetic biology, biochemical engineering, microbiology, or related disciplines with demonstrated expertise in precision fermentation of microbes (yeasts/fungi). Knowledge of microbial strain engineering and improvement, and molecular identification is desirable. The candidate will also demonstrate effective communication and problem-solving skills, as well as high motivation and enthusiasm to work with an interdisciplinary team in food bioprocessing/sciences. RESEARCH ASSISTANT (PSYCHOLOGY/ OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY) AT THE SINGAPORE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (SIT) SIT Health and Social Sciences (HSS) is seeking candidates for the position of a Research Assistant for the research study ‘Integrative Neuro-social cognitive Strategy Programme for Instilling REcovery (INSPIRE): a Community-Based Cognitive Remediation Trial”. This study attempts to investigate the effects of cognitive remediation on neurocognition, social cognition and functional outcomes of persons with schizophrenia/schizoaffective disorders in the community mental health setting. It will be conducted in five community-based psychiatric rehabilitation centres. The Research Assistant is expected to work closely with colleagues at the five psychiatric rehabilitation centres, conduct outcome measurements and carry out all administrative procedures in accordance with research governance policies. The Research Assistant will also need to be able to work independently. Applicants should possess: a. an earned Bachelor with Honours degree in Psychology or Occupational Therapy from a reputable university. b. experience in research work in the field of mental health, particularly in cognitive remediation.  c. skills in organising research dataset, with the ability to conduct basic statistical analyses. d. prior experience in administering cognitive assessments. About the Role This senior academic position provides visionary research leadership to advance health workforce capability in remote and isolated communities, with a strong focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health. The Professor will lead culturally safe, community‑driven research in partnership with Elders and local leaders, strengthening collaborations, attracting significant external research income, and establishing an emerging research program on an international scale. The role also guides staff, HDR students, and early‑career researchers, contributing to strategic research planning and capacity building across the College of Medicine and Public Health. Lead a distinguished program of culturally safe, community‑initiated research to improve health service capability and develop a resilient workforce in the Torres Strait and other isolated communities. Build strong partnerships with Elders, community leaders, government and external organisations, strengthening local, national and international research collaborations.
