Shahid Rajaee Teacher Training University (SRTTU) is the only university in Iran training teachers for vocational and technical schools, as well as high schools.
Founded in 1980, it was formerly named the American Institute of Higher Education Tehran but was renamed after Mohammad Ali Rajaee, the president of the country after he was assassinated in 1981.
It offers undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate degrees across 11 academic units and eight schools - the school of mechanical engineering, the school of electrical engineering, the school of computer engineering, the school of architecture and urban design engineering, the school of civil engineering, the school of humanities, the school of physical education, the school of e-learning and the school of science.
Located in Lavizan, in the north of Tehran, the university has more than 15 hectares of land which includes faculties, offices, labs, workshops, sports facilities, and student housing and dormitories. There is a swimming pool, soccer fields and tennis courts, and several equipped laboratories and workshops for the teaching of engineering sciences: a metrology lab, a machine tools workshop, a welding workshop and a CNC lab.
Students are accepted into the university by Iranian University Entrance Exam (Konkur) which are conducted by the ministry of science and technology, winning prestigious scientific awards like the Khwarizmi International Award as well as direct postgraduate programmes of the ministry of science for top ranking students.
SRTTU is also the centre of UNEVOC/UNESCO in Iran. The Lavizan area consists of a residential area and a forested recreational area called Lavizān Forest Park.

About You The Research assistant will undertake research activities in line with the University's research strategy. It is expected that the Research Assistant will work with an increasing degree of autonomy as skills and experience develop. The Research Assistant will contribute to a specialised research program in quantum information theory and quantum optics, with a focus on quantum channel discrimination for high-resolution spectroscopy and AC field sensing.
