Examinations Invigilator – 0667-26 Primary Location (Regularly): Highfield Campus  Department: Student & Education Services, Exams & Awards Team  Salary: paid at £12.90 p/h. Start date: 4th May 2026 (This is the date online training will be available). Would you like to work as an Examinations Invigilator for the University of Southampton during the 2025/26 academic year and beyond? Exams are run in January, May/June and August. If you have applied previously and carried out Invigilator work for us before, you do not need to re-apply.  We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic, and motivated people who want a flexible job that can fit around other commitments. Invigilators must be reliable, professional and in general good health. They need to have a clear voice and must be able to relay procedures and regulations calmly to students, in a firm but kindly way. Full training will be given prior to work being undertaken. We see the invigilators role as 50-50 balancing the requirements of academic integrity and supporting student welfare. We expect candidates to show respect to all students and staff and to follow policy and procedures to deliver in their role. You must be fully committed to the role and complete all the online training modules before you can invigilate. You will then be supported in your role with your exams induction, team leader guidance and collegiate support. We regret that we cannot accept applications from active students on Taught Programmes (PGT Students) Forthcoming Exams 2025/26 Semester Two assessment: Monday 18 May - Friday 5 June 2026 (excluding Bank Holiday Monday 25 May but possibly including Saturday 23 and 30 May) Supplementary assessments: Monday 17 August - Friday 28 August 2026 (excluding Bank Holiday Monday 24 August but possibly including Saturday 22 August) Shifts could be:  All day 8.00 am to 6.00pm with a lunch break or  AM 8.00am to 12.30pm/1.30pm or PM 1.00pm to 5.30pm/6.30pm Successful applicants will be asked to complete an availability form so that shifts can be allocated. Location: Bedford Park / Kaurna Country View Position Description About the Role Our mission is to help students feel supported and empowered with confidence to succeed at University. As our Student Success & Wellbeing Coordinator, you will lead the strategic delivery of student success and wellbeing services and initiatives to ensure the delivery of high-quality guidance and support to students. The position is responsible for the operational oversight of the Student Success and Wellbeing Advisor (SSWA) team, including managing the team's workflow, triaging and allocation of student cases and implementation of quality assurance processes to enhance the student experience, retention, and success. As a member of the Student Life division, the Student Success and Wellbeing Coordinator leads the identification and execution of proactive outreach campaigns, events, and interventions across the student lifecycle. The role acts as a primary liaison between Student Life, the Colleges, and student service areas across the University. The role also works collaboratively with Student Success Leads to design and monitor targeted support services for specific equity cohorts. This is a hugely rewarding role, as you lead the design and execution of targeted outreach campaigns focusing on critical milestones like orientation, census dates, and academic progress cycles, and see the results first-hand. Some out of hours, weekend and travel may be required. Other key position responsibilities include: Acting as an escalation point for SSWAs, providing specialized guidance on sensitive and high-risk matters. Providing one to one case management for students to support their wellbeing and academic needs. Overseeing data collection, analysis, and interpretation to monitor the effectiveness of wellbeing initiatives and student retention across different student cohorts and equity groups. Providing regular reports and analysis on the performance of student success and wellbeing initiatives to key stakeholders and presenting findings to various relevant working groups and committees. About You With experience coordinating high-volume case management or triage systems for a team, (preferably within a mental health or student support context), whilst also managing a personal case load, you possess high level interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate and liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including students from a diverse background and staff. Your exceptional written and oral communication, ensure your capacity to influence and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders. This is matched by your ability to manage projects including identifying priorities, working to deadlines and providing regular status reports and updates. To be successful in this role, you will also have: Experience and proven ability collecting and interpreting data from Student Information Systems and CRM platforms to drive continuous improvement. Proven ability to provide operational team leadership in a fast-paced environment, including developing procedures and maintaining service standards.
