Applications are now invited for the following post: Assistant Professor of Teaching Department of Digital Arts and Creative Industries (Post Ref.: 25/307) The Department of Digital Arts and Creative Industries (DACI) is an interdisciplinary and innovative learning hub that encompasses a wide range of areas, including film and television, animation, museums and curating, art history, as well as digital arts and immersive media. We offer broad theoretical study and practical training for students seeking careers in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area's burgeoning creative and cultural industries. The Department of Digital Arts and Creative Industries (DACI) currently offers three Undergraduate programmes, BA (Hons) Aminations and Digital Arts, BA (Hons) in Creative Media Industries and BA (Hons) in Visual Studies, and two taught master programmes, MA in Creative and Media Industries (MACMI) and MA in Curating and Art History (MACAH). DACI is inviting applications for a position of Assistant Professor of Teaching to contribute to teaching in the areas of Digital Animation, VR/ AR, interactive art or Cinematography, to commence in August 2026. The appointee is expected to: (a) teach relevant courses at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels; (b) supervise postgraduate and/or undergraduate capstone projects; (c) contribute to service and development of the Department; (d) undertake other duties as assigned by the University. The appointee will teach a wide range of subjects, including “VR/ AR Workshop”, “Production Design”, “Interactive Art” or other digital art electives, and thesis supervision. Service for this role includes academic advising and student recruitment. General Requirements Applicants for the position should have a strong PhD degree. Key criteria for shortlisted candidates include: A strong teaching record; Ability to teach and design courses in Digital Animation, VR/ AR, interactive art or Cinematography of BA and MA levels; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for developing meaningful collaborations with students and colleagues in a liberal arts setting. Shortlisted candidates are required to provide information about their research records, evidence of high-quality teaching in relevant subjects and will be requested to provide a sample course syllabus in the relevant field before the interview. Appointment The conditions of appointment will be competitive. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. We seek a candidate who can translate reaction chemistry into reactor and process solutions for industrial production, grounded in strong understanding of kinetics and thermodynamics. Expected competencies include: Reaction engineering fundamentals: kinetics of catalytic and non-catalytic reactions, thermodynamics, and ability to combine molecular to catalyst and larger scale phenomena.
