The RPTU University Kaiserslautern-Landau was founded in 1970 and is the sole technology and natural sciences university in the state of Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany. 

The university is research based and students can select to study from more than 100 courses of studies across twelve departments. 

It was initially part of the University of Trier but became independent after separation in 1975. Key areas of focus for the university are technology related areas, including: electrotechnology, electrical and computer engineering, and computer Science. 

Industrial placements and opportunities for international studies guarantees academic training that is closely linked to the reality of business practice. 

The university’s campus is located on the edge of the world-famous UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Palatinate Forest characterised by chestnut trees, pine forests, imposing sandstone cliffs and home to lynxes, wildcats and peregrine falcons. The forest is the largest single woodland space in Germany.

The university boasts a sports hall, which includes facilities for badminton, volleyball and table tennis, while students can run, play hockey, basketball and football in the accompanying sports grounds. 

The university often hosts specialist congresses, conferences, concerts, exhibitions, the university ball, and an annual summer festival drawing in thousands of students and visitors. 

The university works with renowned research facilities including the German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence and the Max-Planck Institute for Software Systems to benefit their students after graduation.  

Many alumni go on to work within technology, including Friedemann Mattern, scientist and developer of the vector clock algorithm.

On January 1st, 2023, Technische Universität Kaiserslautern and the Landau site of the former University of Koblenz-Landau merged to form the University of Kaiserslautern-Landau (RPTU).

It is a highly specialized workplace on the issue of vascular diseases. The main activities are vascular-surgical programs. In cooperation with interventional radiologists and angiologists, the clinic provides comprehensive care for vascular patients, including 24-hour permanent service for acute vascular events within the region and supraregionally. As an accredited workplace, it provides undergraduate and postgraduate education in vascular surgery, is involved in scientific research activities and participates in the solution of international randomized multicenter studies. II. The surgical clinic is a part of the Complex Cardiovascular Center and the Cerebrovascular Center established by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic. The Department Head position candidate must be a respected expert in the field of surgery, with experience of working in a given area and with expertise in pre-graduate and postgraduate education. The Head of the department will be responsible for the management of the clinic, undergraduate medical education, doctoral studies, publishing and coordination of research conducted at the clinic. We are seeking outstanding Humanities scholars capable of developing a creative and innovative programme of research and teaching bridging existing disciplinary strengths in HKUArts and artificial intelligence applications. The appointee will have their tenure home in their specific (inter)disciplinary unit in the Faculty of Arts, but will be jointly appointed to the School of Computing and Data Science and will also become a member of the Institute of Data Science (IDS). As an AI+Arts hire the appointee will foster cross-disciplinary collaborations between strategic research areas in the Faculty and, with the support of the Arts Technology Lab and its staff, take a leading role in applying artificial intelligence (AI) to their research and teaching in the Arts and Humanities. Research Fellow in Observational Astrophysics

Are you interested in extragalactic astronomy and the study of galaxies and supermassive black holes? Would you like to work in a supportive, collaborative research group engaged in exploiting cutting-edge data from new ground and space-based facilities to address fundamental questions in galaxy evolution? Then this might be the right opportunity for you. The Astronomy Group within the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Southampton invites applications for a Research Fellow in Observational Astrophysics to work with Professor Manda Banerji on an STFC funded research project on AGN and their host galaxies. You will exploit state-of-the-art data from the Vera C. Rubin Observatory Legacy Survey of Space Time (LSST), Euclid and 4MOST to constrain the properties of supermassive black holes and their host galaxies and understand co-evolution across a large dynamic range in mass, and over cosmic time. You will be expected to work with colleagues in Southampton as well as international collaborators to lead scientific projects on AGN identification, and measurement of supermassive black hole and host galaxy masses using imaging and spectroscopic data from ground and space. The Southampton Astronomy Group provides a stimulating and collegial environment with many opportunities to collaborate with other group members. Our main research themes are galaxy evolution, compact objects, and time-domain astrophysics. Description The Center for Behavioral Institutional Design, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit several postdoctoral researchers interested in exploring the origins of human behavioral diversity, developing empirically-informed models of human behavior, and designing innovative institutions and policies for promoting social welfare. C-BID offers a vibrant and stimulating research environment, with opportunities to engage in high-impact projects and collaborations.
