Job Purpose The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum. Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry. In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in SIT. With Technical Officers, laboratory safety professionals, and administrators in POD, they jointly develop central policies and processes for the safe and seamless operation of laboratories in SIT. Key Responsibilities Design and teach labs & practice modules. Mentor students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Lead or co-lead innovation projects with industry. Manage labs and equipment to support academic programmes and applied research. Ensure safety in labs. Job Requirements A good degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field. Masters, PhD and/or relevant professional certifications would be advantageous. Track record in project leadership and impactful industry experience in Chemical Process Technology. Deep technical specialist with 10 or more years of working experience in unit operations (e.g. Heat Exchanger, Distillation Column, Reactors, Cooling Tower etc). Practical knowledge of Quality Management Systems and Engineering standards including but not limited to ISO9001, OSHA and BSI etc. Practiced in Chemical Process Design software (for e.g. HYSYS) Proficiency in analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, and related methods, with a focus on biopharmaceutical analysis would be an advantage. Strong supervisory skills and enjoy working closely with students in an educational environment. Demonstrate proficiency to keep abreast of development in the field and pursue professional certification programs. Possess industrial certifications in relevant areas will be an added advantage.

Welcome to Apply for the 2026 Overseas Outstanding Young Scholars Programme through Beijing Normal University  I. Programme Overview The Overseas Outstanding Young Scientists Fund Programme aims to attract and encourage outstanding young scholars (including non-ethnic Chinese foreign talents) who have achieved notable accomplishments in natural sciences, engineering, and technology to return to or come to China. They will independently select research directions to conduct innovative studies, thereby accelerating the growth of young scientific and technological talents. This initiative seeks to cultivate a cohort of outstanding academic leaders poised to advance to the forefront of global science and technology, contributing to the nation's endeavours to become a leading scientific and technological power. II. Application Requirements The final requirements shall be subject to the 2026 National Natural Science Foundation of China Outstanding Young Scientist Fund Programme (Overseas) Application Guidelines. 1. Applicants for the Outstanding Young Scientists Fund Programme (Overseas) must meet the following criteria: (1) Comply with the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China, demonstrate sound scientific ethics, and conscientiously embody the spirit of scientists in the new era; (2) Have been born on or after 1 January 1986; (3) Hold a doctoral degree; (4) Their research focus should primarily lie within natural sciences, engineering technology, or related fields; (5) Between obtaining their doctoral degree and 15 April 2026, applicants should generally have held a formal teaching or research position at an overseas university, research institution, or corporate R&D centre, with a continuous work history of at least 36 months. For those who obtained their doctoral degree overseas and have demonstrated particularly outstanding achievements, the work experience requirement may be appropriately relaxed (this does not apply to those who obtained their overseas doctoral degree through joint Sino-foreign training programmes). For applicants holding concurrently remunerated positions within China during their overseas employment period, the duration of such domestic employment shall not be counted towards the overseas work requirement; (6) Have achieved research or technical accomplishments recognised by peers, demonstrating potential to become an academic leader or outstanding talent in the field;  (7) Applicants must not yet have taken up full-time employment in China, or must commence such employment after 1 January 2025. Upon receiving funding notification, they must resign from their overseas position and undertake full-time employment in China for a minimum of three years. 2. Description Mubadala Arabian Center for Climate and Environmental Sciences (ACCESS) at New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit an Associate Research Scientist to investigate the molecular and genomic mechanisms underpinning the extraordinary heat tolerance of Arabian Gulf corals, the most thermally resilient corals on Earth. The successful candidate will lead an ambitious research program focused on understanding how individual corals and populations vary in their responses to heat stress. This work will involve the application of genomic and gene expression profiling, as well as eco-physiological assays, to reveal the mechanistic basis of thermal resilience. The position is uniquely placed to bridge fundamental molecular research with applied conservation through close collaboration with another postdoctoral researcher who is leading a selective breeding program for heat-tolerant corals. Together, these efforts will support the development of robust coral populations capable of withstanding intensifying climate-related stressors. Applicants must hold a PhD in biological sciences, molecular ecology, genetics, or a related field, completed by January 2024. They must also possess advanced SCUBA certification with demonstrated research-diving experience, as well as strong proficiency in molecular biology, genetics, bioinformatics, and statistical analysis. Experience conducting coral heat-stress assays and a record of first-author publications relevant to the field are essential. Preferred qualifications include a driver’s license in the applicant’s home country, boat-operator certification, and scientific diver credentials such as AAUS certification. Additional assets include experience with other omics approaches or epigenetics, advanced coding skills in R or Python, and prior supervisory experience with students or research staff. Description The Division of Science at New York University Abu Dhabi is inviting applications for a Post-Doctoral Associate position in the broad research areas of non-associative algebras and representation theory. Although all applicants with a background in these two areas will be considered, priority will be given to candidates who have prior experience with modular Lie superalgebras. Candidates must hold a PhD in mathematics or Theoretical Physics.
