Playa Ancha University is a state university located in central Chile. Two campuses serve the university, the main one situated in the city of Valparaiso. San Felipe is home to the university's second campus, opening its doors in 1991. Playa Ancha University is a member of the Chilean Traditional Universities organisation and was established in 1948, then known as Instituto Pedagogico de la Universidad de Chile, with languages being its main area of study. In 1981, the university assumed the title of Higher Academy of Pedagogical Sciences, and new programmes and areas of study were added to its education offering. The eight main faculties of the university are: art; education sciences; physical activity and sports science; humanities; health sciences; social sciences; natural and exact sciences; and engineering. The Technological Institute of the University of Playa Ancha manages technical career studies. Playa Ancha University aspires to being recognised for its contribution towards developing the Valparaiso region through its teaching, innovation, research and deep involvement with the environment. It aims to achieve this within a framework of inclusion, equality and social commitment. As a state institution, it says it is commited to its work developing technical level careers and providing professional learning and teaching programmes to adapt students to a humanistic, ethical, critical, analytical and creative frame of mind. Playa Ancha University's modernisation process aims to improve the university's infrastructure, while a new library is being built on the main campus. The Position The Research Environment Specialist plays a key role in developing, maintaining, and supporting high-quality research environments that enable advanced computation, data analysis, and AI/ML workflows at the National Computational Infrastructure (NCI). The role supports major scientific domains—including climate and weather, geosciences, national water management, bioinformatics, and astronomy—by ensuring researchers can effectively utilise NCI’s HPC, cloud, data, and GPU platforms. Working under the broad direction of the Software and Data Modernisation Manager, the Specialist is responsible for deploying and optimising scientific software stacks, integrating tools and services into NCI’s computational ecosystem, and supporting users with expert advice on HPC, data science, and AI/ML workflows. The position also leads the development of documentation, training materials, and community engagement activities to ensure users can access, understand, and leverage NCI’s capabilities. The role requires strong technical expertise in scientific computing, HPC environments, Linux-based workflows, and modern AI/ML technologies. It also demands excellent communication skills, a proactive service mindset, and the ability to collaborate across teams and with external stakeholders. The Specialist is expected to stay current with emerging technologies, contribute to performance optimisation and software modernisation efforts, and uphold ANU’s standards for safety, equity, and professional conduct. The Person The ideal candidate holds postgraduate qualifications or equivalent experience in HPC, data science and AI/ML, with strong domain expertise in areas such as climate, weather, environmental science or related fields. They demonstrate proven capability in developing, optimising and deploying scientific workflows across HPC, cloud and GPU environments, with proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Fortran, C, R or Julia and experience with modern AI/ML frameworks. They have expertise in data formats, software engineering practices, performance profiling and benchmarking, and are confident working within Linux environments and distributed systems. Job Purpose The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum. Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. The Role and Department The Development and Alumni Relations Office (DARO) is responsible for coordinating philanthropy, alumni and supporter engagement, advancement services, and supporter communications on behalf of the University. DARO works with colleges, academic departments, research centres and institutes, wider student experience partners, and professional departments to engage over 200,000 alumni and supporters around the world. DARO is part of Advancement, along with Marketing and Communications, and contributes to the enhancement of Durham University's reputation as globally outstanding, inclusive, and forward-looking. The Development Manager will play a critical role in the delivery of Durham's bicentenary campaign, known as Durham 200. Durham 200 is a major philanthropic initiative in recognition of the University's 200th anniversary in 2032, which seeks to create a step-change in philanthropic income and increase significantly the impact of giving to Durham. The post-holder must be versatile and able to work closely with senior University leaders, prominent and public figures, major benefactors and advocates, and senior volunteers in multiple capacities which facilitate the development of major donations and the advancement of Durham University. Trusts and Foundations Manager

The Role and Department The Trusts and Foundations Manager will take an active role in liaising with colleagues to establish funding needs, researching and cultivating funders new and old, submitting applications, administering gifts and stewarding donors. They will collaborate with colleagues across the University in academic, college, professional services and leadership roles. They will represent the Institutional Funders Team in a positive supportive manner while balancing the need for the team to align with DARO's strategic priorities and fundraising campaign. The Trusts and Foundations Manager will research funding opportunities and record information on DARO's Raiser's Edge database, providing a resource which can be regularly updated and interrogated as required. They will develop and strengthen relationships with trusts and foundations by networking and making introductions to new funders where appropriate and keeping channels of communication open with existing partners. In addition to trusts and foundations, funders might include statutory funders and religious orders. The Trusts and Foundations Manager will tailor their approach to each funder to ensure they are using the appropriate channels. They will take a lead on writing selected applications, drawing on colleagues' strengths, and be able to articulate the funding need in the context of the University's wider strategy. The value of applications may range from mid-level grants to £100,000 plus. As required, they will organise and host tailored funder visits to the University, working with colleagues including senior staff and providing briefings. They will record the outcome of applications and any feedback. Where an application is successful, they will assist with gift administration. They will encourage ongoing dialogue with funders where possible and they will maintain funder records on Raiser's Edge by recording interactions and noting any requirements for future action. They will work collaboratively and flexibly with all colleagues in the Institutional Funders Team to maximise income for the benefit of the University.
