Petra Christian University is a private Christian university located in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. It was founded in 1961 by the Petra Christian Education and Teaching Association, which itself was established in 1951 to provide education from kindergarten to high school. 

The campus occupies an urban area of 401,782 square metres in the Wonocolo District of Surabaya. It contains 31 buildings, each named alphabetically. In 2017, the environmentally friendly Block-Q building was completed to house the Faculty of Humanities and Creative Industry.

Campus facilities include the Petra Christian University Philharmonic Hall, which seats over 3,000.

There are also student media facilities, such as Desa Informasi Television, an extensive library with digital collections, coffeehouses, retail spaces, and open green areas used for events. The university provides shuttle services for students and staff.

Petra Christian University comprises seven faculties: Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning; Faculty of Industrial Technology; Faculty of Business and Management; Faculty of Humanities and Creative Industry; Faculty of Education; Faculty of Economics; and Faculty of Arts and Design. These faculties offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programmes, with courses ranging from engineering, architecture, and industrial technology to business, tourism, creative arts, education, and digital media.

The university maintains strong international partnerships and mobility programmes with institutions across Asia, Europe, Australia and North America, in association with the Association of Christian Universities and Colleges in Asia. Students may participate in exchange and dual-degree programmes, fostering global exposure and collaboration.

Program Assistant, Academics and Administration The Program Assistant (Academics and Administration), under the supervision of the Associate Director, provides administrative support for the Academic Administration of NYUS. The primary responsibility of the position is to provide broad support as part of a team whose mission is to ensure the effective delivery of a first-rate study abroad experience. The Assistant also ensures programmatic support consistent with the high standards that have established NYU as a global leader in international higher education. This is a full-time position based in Sydney, Australia. Approximate time allocations for each duty category are indicated below but may be adjusted as necessary. Full time, 2 years fixed term, located on the Camperdown Campus at the School of Chemistry Opportunity to drive a high-impact research program on engineering carbon fixation in cyanobacteria Base Salary, Academic level A, $113,400- $116,916 + 17% superannuation About the opportunity The School of Chemistry is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Cyanobacterial Synthetic Biology who will work with the research group of Associate Professor Yu Heng Lau on engineering carbon fixation to enhance the growth of photosynthetic organisms. This project is funded by an ARC Discovery Project 2026, where the research associate will focus on engineering encapsulin protein cages in cyanobacteria, with optimal carbon fixing designs to be implemented in plants through collaboration with Professor Spencer Whitney at the Australian National University. The ultimate goal of this research program is to generate crops that are more resilient and resource-efficient, leading to increased agricultural productivity. The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences is seeking to appoint a motivated individual to join the Medical Programme Professional Service Team. The post holder will work closely with the Senior Administrative Officer and Medical Programme Manager to support them in delivering assessment and progression processes and for the School of Medicine’s Graduate Medicine programme. The role This role will focus on managing and implementing processes in relation to all aspects of student assessment and ensuring accurate records and data are managed and in line with University and GMC regulations. The postholder is expected to build a knowledge of the systems and processes involved in order to meet expectations for recording and tracking student progress. About you The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate strong technical and IT skills with a focus on reporting data and supporting the development of bespoke systems aimed at monitoring and recording student data. The Faculty supports high quality epidemiological studies and complex clinical trials in nursing, midwifery, palliative care, rehabilitation, technologies, and health services research. You will contribute to new grant applications and advise on studies to completion and publication, including supervision of junior statisticians. You will also contribute to teaching, provide PhD and MSc supervision and contribute to improving statistical skills across the Faculty. You will be associated with the UKCRC-registered King’s Clinical Trials Unit (CTU), working to their quality management system. The King’s CTU has world-leading statistical and trial delivery expertise and provides randomisation services and other management system support. You will be involved in grant applications to a variety of funding streams such as those offered by the National Institute for Health and Care Research and the Medical Research Council (MRC), including pilot/feasibility to definitive trials and fellowships that typically involve trials or epidemiology using big data.
