Petra Christian University is a private Christian university located in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. It was founded in 1961 by the Petra Christian Education and Teaching Association, which itself was established in 1951 to provide education from kindergarten to high school. 

The campus occupies an urban area of 401,782 square metres in the Wonocolo District of Surabaya. It contains 31 buildings, each named alphabetically. In 2017, the environmentally friendly Block-Q building was completed to house the Faculty of Humanities and Creative Industry.

Campus facilities include the Petra Christian University Philharmonic Hall, which seats over 3,000.

There are also student media facilities, such as Desa Informasi Television, an extensive library with digital collections, coffeehouses, retail spaces, and open green areas used for events. The university provides shuttle services for students and staff.

Petra Christian University comprises seven faculties: Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning; Faculty of Industrial Technology; Faculty of Business and Management; Faculty of Humanities and Creative Industry; Faculty of Education; Faculty of Economics; and Faculty of Arts and Design. These faculties offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programmes, with courses ranging from engineering, architecture, and industrial technology to business, tourism, creative arts, education, and digital media.

The university maintains strong international partnerships and mobility programmes with institutions across Asia, Europe, Australia and North America, in association with the Association of Christian Universities and Colleges in Asia. Students may participate in exchange and dual-degree programmes, fostering global exposure and collaboration.

The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum. Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry. In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in SIT. With Technical Officers, laboratory safety professionals, and administrators in POD, they jointly develop central policies and processes for the safe and seamless operation of laboratories in SIT. Key Responsibilities Design and teach labs & practice modules. Mentor students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Lead or co-lead innovation projects with industry. Manage labs and equipment to support academic programmes and applied research. Ensure safety in labs. Job Requirements A good degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Masters, PhD and/or relevant professional certifications like registered PE would be advantageous. Deep technical specialist with 10 or more years of working experience in mechanical design, systems design and integration or related area in mechatronics would be preferred. Experience in following areas are highly desirable: Complex Mechanical systems development and integration Material and components selection including working knowledge with integration and selection of components/systems such as actuators, pumps, hydraulics system, PLC/Controls systems CAD software such as SolidWorks Simulation such as Finite element and CFD simulation Hands-on prototyping and fabrication skills to guide students in labs It will be advantageous with working knowledge of Material testing and material properties Programming of Control and PLC systems Software such as Ansys and Abaqus Extensive hands-on experience and knowledge of industry practices and engineering principles to bring industry perspective to SIT. Keen interest in innovation projects, with demonstrated ability in developing solutions to technical problems. Strong supervisory skills and enjoy working closely with students in an educational environment. Demonstrate proficiency to keep abreast of development in the field and pursue professional certification programs. Possess industrial certifications in relevant areas will be an added advantage.

The GB Recruitment Support Officer plays a key role in supporting student recruitment across the Great Britain domestic market for Queen's University Belfast. Working within the Global Student Recruitment team, the postholder will help plan and deliver targeted recruitment activities designed to attract, inform and convert prospective students from schools and colleges across the south of England. This role focuses on building strong relationships with key stakeholders including school advisers, teachers and education partners, while representing the University at recruitment fairs, school visits and other outreach events. About the Job The University of East London (UEL) in partnership with STRABAG UK is embarking on a collaborative Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project with the overall aim of development and commercialising a pioneering, sustainable grout made from repurposed organic and earth-based materials. The project leverages advanced materials engineering expertise to deliver an innovative, eco-friendly, low-carbon tunnelling solution that is first-of-its-kind. This will contribute to addressing the urgent need to address the climate emergency and help achieve carbon emissions reduction targets. We are seeking a Civil Engineering and Materials (KTP Associate) to join the team. As a KTP Associate you will deliver an innovative project as an employee of the University of East London, but will spend most of your working time at the company’s premises and sites. Technical Tracing the complex binding, self-forming, self-regulating and self-healing mechanisms (e.g., hydration, silicatisation, sequestration) reactions in Realtime, their interdependencies, and complex response to the environmental factors and controllers. Adaptation of the TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) current technology to suit the new grout.
