About the role As a Senior HR Change Manager, you will lead the HR contribution to major organisational change programmes, ensuring that organisational design, consultation and implementation are delivered effectively, compliantly and with a strong focus on people. Your responsibilities will include: Leading the end-to-end delivery of complex, high-impact organisational change programmes Providing expert advice, challenge and coaching to senior leaders on the people implications of change Designing and implementing effective organisational structures and workforce solutions Managing risk, dependencies and governance across multiple change initiatives Ensuring compliance with employment legislation, University policy and trade union agreements Driving effective communication, engagement and stakeholder management throughout change Building leadership capability to enable managers to successfully lead teams through change You will also contribute to the wider strategic work of the HR Directorate, working collaboratively across specialist teams to ensure a joined-up and high-quality approach to people initiatives. About you We are looking for a credible and resilient HR professional with significant experience of leading organisational change in complex environments. You will bring: Proven experience delivering large-scale organisational change and transformation programmes Strong expertise in organisational design, consultation processes and employee relations A track record of successfully influencing senior leaders and stakeholders The ability to operate effectively in ambiguous and fast-paced environments Excellent programme and project management skills A strong understanding of employment law and HR best practice You will be confident in providing both support and constructive challenge, using insight and judgement to develop innovative and practical solutions. A Level 7 qualification (or equivalent experience) is essential. CIPD Chartership and/or a recognised project management qualification are desirable. Research Fellow in Palaeoceanography and Earth System Model Development

The School of Ocean and Earth Science at the University of Southampton is seeking to recruit a Research Fellow in Palaeoceanography and Earth System Model Development. The successful applicant will work on the development and application of the cGENIE Earth system model on multiple sub-projects of the ERC grant ‘Determining the drivers of extinction across space and time’, under the supervision of institutional lead Dr. Richard Stockey and in collaboration with team members at the University of Oxford (led by Prof. Erin Saupe). The post holder will specifically work to generate a series of reconstructive models of 3D ocean biogeochemistry through 1) the last ~800,000 years and 2) the Phanerozoic (last ~540 million years). A key focus of this role is to conduct Earth system model development to improve representation of ocean biogeochemistry in space and time for the intervals focused on in this research project. This is a relatively short-term, specialist Earth system modelling position (15-month duration). The post holder is therefore expected to have prior experience in intermediate complexity Earth system modelling and experience integrating key components of Earth system evolution on these timescales, in particular linking model output to geochemical data and working with astronomical forcings. The successful candidate will either hold, or be nearing completion of, a relevant PhD/DPhil and will have appropriate research experience alongside strong subject-specific expertise. They should be capable of working independently within established research programmes, managing their own research activities and contributing to academic publications. Strong communication skills are essential, including the ability to clearly present research ideas and findings, as well as representing the research group effectively in meetings and collaborative discussions.

About the Role You will add technical expertise and deliver experimental and materials’ lifing work. You will have a specific set of responsibilities within the research project. You will be a highly motivated and organised individual with a passion for research and teaching. The successful candidate will work on several industrially led projects, primarily in collaboration with the Materials in Extreme Environments Group. The projects will investigate the effect of different high temperature environments on a series of different alloys and superalloys. About You You will hold a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline, with strong expertise in materials degradation and high-temperature behaviour of alloys and superalloys. You will have hands-on laboratory experience, including metallography and experimental testing, alongside a proven ability to analyse complex data and generate high-quality research outputs, ideally evidenced by peer-reviewed publications. Highly organised and self-motivated, you will be capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering to tight deadlines. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with academic and industrial partners, contribute to teaching at postgraduate level, and present your work at international conferences.
