About the Centre for Quantitative History (CQH) The Centre for Quantitative History (CQH) is a focal institution studying economic, financial, and social history in a quantitative fashion, hosted at the HKU Business School in collaboration with the Hong Kong Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences. The Centre was founded as an Area of Excellence designated and funded by the Research Grants Council of the University Grants Committee of Hong Kong. The Role The appointees will primarily work with the Principal Investigators on the study of China’s economic, financial, social, and other histories, oriented toward academic journal publications. They will lead a few Research Assistants and actively contribute to various activities of the Centre. The responsibilities of this role include moderating research seminars, overseeing the Centre’s publications, and coordinating its seminars and biennial conferences. They are expected to engage in the academic life of the Centre by regularly attending readings, lectures, presentations, and other campus activities. Qualifications and Qualities Applicants should possess Ph.D. degree in Economics, Finance, History, or a closely related field in the recent three years (or will complete the Ph.D. degree before 2026 Summer). They should have a well-demonstrated interest in quantitative history research, and excellent communication skills in Chinese and English for both writing and oral presentation. Supported Areas for START Health Sciences  Diagnostic Radiography: Radiography involves the controlled use of ionising radiation, radioactive substances and non-ionising radiation to produce diagnostic quality images of the human body, facilitating the diagnosis and treatment of patients (Allied Health Professions Act 2011). Dietetics: Dietetics involves the management of medical conditions and promotion of health through application of food and nutrition. Dietitians provide medical nutrition therapy and implement specific diet strategies for chronic medical conditions, illnesses, or injuries (Singapore Nutrition and Dietetics Association). Nursing: Registered nurses render health services to individuals, families, and communities (Singapore Nursing Board Code for Nurses and Midwives 2018). Speech and Language Therapy: Speech and Language Therapy involves assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of communication and swallowing disorders (Allied Health Professions Act 2011). Occupational Therapy: Occupational therapy involves assessment and interventions to work or school, self-care, leisure or play, physical environments as well as cognitive, mental and physical components of function to enable individuals affected by physical injury or illness, developmental or learning disabilities, psychosocial dysfunctions or the aging process, to engage in everyday life occupations in order to maximise independent performance of life roles, prevent disability and maintain health (Allied Health Professions Act 2011). Physiotherapy: Physiotherapy involves assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of pain, injury, or any other physical dysfunction, through the use of education, exercise, manual therapy, electro-physical agents, technology or any other treatment for those purposes (Allied Health Professions Act 2011).

Associate Professor (Infectious Diseases Modelling) A unique opportunity to work across UWA and The Kids Research Institute Australia, combining world-class modelling expertise with clinical and public health partnerships to deliver real-world impact for Western Australia. Lead and grow an internationally recognised research program in infectious disease modelling, including mentoring researchers and building modelling capability across Western Australia. About the opportunity Develop and apply advanced mathematical, computational and statistical models for infectious diseases (e.g., COVID-19, influenza, RSV), drive epidemic forecasting and analytics in Western Australia, secure competitive funding, publish in leading journals, and build national and international collaborations. Lead curriculum development and coordination of Infectious Disease Modelling, contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and supervise and mentor Honours, Master’s, PhD students and early-career researchers to build modelling capacity in WA. Support the Chair in establishing an internationally recognised research program, foster interdisciplinary partnerships (including with The Kids Research Institute Australia and ACEFA), engage with community and industry stakeholders, uphold University governance and inclusion commitments, and contribute to service, IP management and research translation. About you PhD in an academic field relevant to the discipline or other higher professional qualifications appropriate to their discipline. An excellent professional and academic record.
