Occidental Mindoro State College

Occidental Mindoro State College (OMSC) is a public higher education institution in the Philippines, located in the province of Occidental Mindoro. Its origins date back to 1966, when it was established as the San Jose National Agricultural School to provide technical and vocational training in agriculture. The institution later evolved into the Occidental Mindoro National College before being converted into a state college in 1994.

The college delivers its programmes through a network of campuses across the province, with its main campus in San Jose and additional sites in Mamburao and Sablayan, among others. 

Located in the MIMAROPA region in the western Philippines, Occidental Mindoro is characterised by a strong rural economy supported by agriculture, fisheries, and natural resources. 

The college offers a range of both undergraduate and graduate degree programmes across fields including agriculture, fisheries, education, engineering and technology, business and management, hospitality and tourism, information technology, and social sciences. 

There is also the Basic Education Laboratory for those students seeking to develop their teacher training skills. The laboratory provides students with opportunities to apply theories learned from professional subjects to actual teaching situations.

Outside the classroom, the college supports a range of extracurricular activities, including student organisations, cultural events, sports programmes, and community outreach initiatives.
