Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) has a history that dates back to 1916, when it was established as the Bayombong Rural School, an intermediate-level farm settlement institution at the foot of Bangan Hill. 

Following a series of transformations, including the Nueva Vizcaya Rural High School (1930), and numerous agricultural and vocational phases, the institution gained official university status in 2005 and became Nueva Vizcaya State University.

The university’s main campus is located in Bayombong, the provincial capital of Nueva Vizcaya, a municipality in the Philippines. NVSU also consists of a secondary campus in Bambang, together forming a vibrant educational hub in the Cagayan Valley under the Philippine Commission on Higher Education’s mandate to provide advanced education in agriculture, science, technology, and education in the region of Vizcaya.

NVSU offers a wide range of academic programmes, from pre-bachelor’s to doctoral studies, across numerous fields. It is also recognised for its admissions based on entrance exams, and its commitment to providing state-of-the-art facilities such as libraries, student housing, sports venues, scholarships, and distance learning, inclusive of international applicants. 

It has 14 research centres and 17 international partnerships.

The role involves delivering high-quality teaching across undergraduate, Masters, and Graduate Diploma programs, while maintaining and advancing scholarly, research, and/or professional capabilities. The successful candidate will actively engage with academic, industry, and professional communities to promote the program and build meaningful partnerships. Working collaboratively within a collegial teaching team, the Lecturer will keep colleagues and students informed of emerging developments in cyber security, cloud computing, cyber-physical systems, and software systems, and may also undertake course coordination responsibilities. This position is a backfill for a DECRA Fellow, with opportunities to collaborate on research focused on securing systems and addressing data privacy and security challenges in machine learning. About You To be successful for this position, you will have: Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver programs at undergraduate and post-graduate levels in core areas of Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology and Cyber Security, including online delivery, and the ability to produce high quality curriculum or program materials. Ability to undertake course coordination role. Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with and to negotiate sensitively with students especially on issues related to effective learning. Emerging track record and recognition for quality research outputs which will contribute to existing Cyber Security and Software Systems Discipline and School research areas evidenced by publications, development of new research initiatives, competitive research funding, and industry links. Demonstrated ability to supervise higher degree by research candidates. Ability to build effective networks with colleagues and generate alternative funding projects through effective liaison with industry and government. Demonstrated ability to work in team environments, to contribute to the development of positive work culture, and to embrace change to support innovation. The Role and Department The Senior Research Contracts Manager will provide expert leadership in the negotiation, drafting and management of research agreements, ensuring that the University's interests are protected while enabling high quality research activity to proceed efficiently. About MediaFutures/ the position About MediaFutures MediaFutures is a Centre for Research-based Innovation (SFI) funded by the Research Council of Norway and hosted by the University of Bergen. The centre is located at Media City Bergen and is closely connected to the Department of Information Science and Media Studies, the DARS research group, and adjacent computational social science and AI research environments at UiB. MediaFutures conducts interdisciplinary research on responsible artificial intelligence and media technologies, including media trust, recommender systems, AI-driven content production and analysis, content interaction and accessibility, Norwegian language technology, and broader questions in computational social science and behavioural data science. The centre produces scientific publications, prototypes, tools, and innovation outputs in close cooperation with industry partners.
