About North Island College

North Island College (NIC) is a publicly funded college in British Columbia, Canada.

It was first established in 1975.

The university has four campuses and three centres.

The largest campus is in the Comox Valley in Courtenay, and there are smaller campuses in Campbell River, Port Alberni and Port Hardy. A centre is also located in Ucluelet and there are two vocational centres: Tebo Vocational Centre in Port Alberni and Vigar Road Vocational Centre in Campbell River.

The college runs over 1,000 courses and 80 programmes in healthcare, trades, business, fine arts and tourism among others. There are a range of qualifications available including degrees, diplomas and certificates. NIC also offers three bachelor of business administration degrees, with majors in marketing, accounting and general management, and a bachelor of science in nursing, in partnership with Vancouver Island University (VIU).

NIC’s partnership agreements with universities around the world, give students access to the leading institutions in Canada and abroad through transfer agreements, exchanges, short and long-term study abroad opportunities and field schools.
