The Department of Criminal Law is a department of the MU Faculty of Law that provides teaching and research in the fields of criminal law, criminalistics and criminology. Main activities: responsibility for the educational and scientific activities of the department and the achievement of the required outputs and results, personnel management of the department (motivation, evaluation, and career growth of employees), responsibility for the management of entrusted funds, close cooperation with the faculty management, own teaching (including the preparation of study and teaching materials), scientific research and publishing activities. Qualifications and other requirements (mandatory): Master's degree in law, academic or scientific title of professor or associate professor, at least 10 years of experience in the field, active teaching and scientific activity and readiness to guarantee the professional subjects taught at the department, personal and professional prerequisites for leading the department, ability to teach and publish in Czech and English; knowledge of other languages is an advantage, fulfilment of the requirements under Act No. 451/1991 Coll. as amended; persons born after 1 December 1971 are not required to provide proof of this, moral integrity, information on other employment relationships of the employee within the meaning of Section 70 of Act No. 111/1998 Coll. on Higher Education Institutions, as amended. We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow to join Prof Mariani’s team (www.mariani-lab.org), based at the LJMU School of Biological & Environmental Sciences, to be a key driver in a new Horizon Europe project: SEA4FUTURE. The research is broadly aimed at improving the sustainability of Mediterranean fisheries and involves 23 institutions in 10 countries. The Liverpool-based team will coordinate work-package 2 – focused on the generation of biodiversity data and complementary interdisciplinary information to enable assessment of fisheries impacts. You will be responsible for generating eDNA metabarcoding data from fisheries across the Mediterranean, entailing the development of an ambitious sampling design, running laboratory experiments using molecular techniques, carrying out bioinformatics and statistical analyses, and leading academic publications. The Role and the Department Research and Innovation Services (RIS) provides guidance, expert advice and hands-on support for all aspects of research and research-related work, including securing funding, working with partners, undertaking knowledge exchange, demonstrating impact, commercialising outputs, ensuring good research practice and supporting professional development. We are seeking a Post Award Finance and Project Officer to join our Post Award Team within Research Operations to support a colleagues maternity leave. You will deliver comprehensive post-award financial and administrative support, ensuring that project leaders and researchers receive timely, expert advice. Your responsibilities will span the full grant lifecycle, from award acceptance and project setup, through financial monitoring and budget management, to final claims, reconciliation, project closure, and preparation for both internal and external audits. Stakeholder engagement is at the core of this role. You will act as the primary point of contact for internal and external partners, facilitating clear communication and effective coordination across departments and funding bodies. You will also regularly review project budgets, income, and expenditure to maintain accuracy and to identify and address any significant variances such as under- or overspending, ineligible costs, or issues with overhead recovery. The postholder has the following key responsibilities: Manage the post-award financial administration of non-research grants, ensuring accurate and timely closure.   Prepare and submit financial claims, invoices, and statements in line with funder and institutional deadlines.   Monitor budgets, income, and expenditure, identifying and resolving variances, and providing financial forecasts to project leads.   Reconcile project accounts, process final expenditure and exchange rate journals, and ensure accurate allocation of income.   Ensure compliance with funder terms and conditions, advising stakeholders on eligible expenditure and removing ineligible costs.   Coordinate staff approvals with HR, ensuring alignment with project budgets and funder requirements.   Calculate and transfer fEC overheads/indirect costs in accordance with approved budgets.   Liaise with internal teams (Finance, HR, Departments) and external stakeholders (funders, HEIs, partners) to resolve queries.   Maintain accurate, auditable records and ensure financial systems reflect final approved expenditure.   Working pattern: Monday - Friday.
