About Nexus International University

Basic information and contact details for Nexus International University

Nexus International University was established in 2011 by accreditation of the Ugandan National Council for Higher Education. It was originally named the Virtual University of Uganda but was renamed in 2010 when the first vice chancellor, Professor Deirdre Carabine, was appointed. The university is located in Kampala, the capital and largest city of Uganda. Academically, the university is organised into six faculties: business administration and management, computing and information technology, energy, global and development studies, public health and medical sciences, law, and education and humanities. Within each faculty are different departments, which offer a wide variety of degree programmes at both undergraduate and graduate degree level. Outside the classroom, students can participate in the university’s vast array of extracurricular activities. Throughout the academic year the university carries out a range of research projects and community outreach projects, designed to contribute to the socioeconomic development of the region.
