About Navoi State University
Basic information and contact details for Navoi State University
Established in 1983 the Navoi State Pedagogical Institute was initially established as a branch of Tashkent State Pedagogical Institute. It then became an independent institution and took its current name nine years later.
It started with the faculties of Uzbek language and literature and physics and mathematics and has since expanded to include faculties of foreign languages, physical education, medicine, history, arts, natural sciences and English language and literature.
The university has eight buildings which are spread across six different sections of the city of Navoi.
It has in the region of 8,000 full-time students, the vast majority undergraduates, and more than 5,000 part-time students including several hundred who study in the evening. It is set for continued expansion, with the national government in October 2021 announcing plans for another 6,000 student places and 20 new disciplines.
The international relations department was created in 2018. Partnership agreements have recently been signed with Malaysia’s Management and Science University and for e-training with Sunderland University.
