For this faculty position, we are looking for candidates with an engineering background, who have extensive experience in the area of digital supply chain. Essential Academic and/or industrial experience in design and managing digital supply chain solutioning and supply chain management. Having a background and interest in one or more fields of digital supply chain, including but not limited to digital supply chain transformation, digital manufacturing, E-procurement, E-commerce, E-logistics. Experience and knowledgeable in one or more areas of supply chain operations management, risk management and operations research, such as demand forecasting, inventory control, procurement, manufacturing, distribution, warehouse and transportation simulation, optimization and management. Motivated to develop and to teach curriculum in supply chain sustainability. Strong demonstration of interest to develop supply chain security, supply chain digital twin, and artificial intelligence solutions through applied research projects. Desirable Good knowledge in digital supply chain-related technologies such as AI, LLMs, Cyber Security, IoT, 3D printing, automation, supply chain security, digital twins, and block chains. Hands on experience in commercial digital supply chain solutioning projects with both hardware and software elements. Experience in digital supply chain related projects with strong integration of the three pillars, i.e., Digitalization, Resilience and Agility, and Green Supply Chain. Preferred to having a PhD in a related technical area. Led or involved in strong industry - academia partnership projects. The Singapore Teaching and Academic Research Talent (START) Scheme is co-funded by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and SIT to encourage and support outstanding young Singaporeans interested in pursuing an academic career at SIT. The Applied Research Fellowship aims to provide doctoral candidates who are about to complete or have recently completed their studies an opportunity to engage in advanced training and/or research at an overseas university for one year. Besides financial support, awardees will also receive academic mentorship. Upon completion of the Fellowship, awardees will be considered for Assistant Professorship. Eligibility and Selection Criteria Singapore citizen Doctoral candidates who have recently completed or are about to complete their studies in a discipline under the supported areas for START below Excellent academic record plus a high degree of proficiency and motivation for selected research area Have been accepted or have applied for a postdoctoral training at a leading overseas university in a research area that is aligned with SIT’s supported areas A keen interest in an academic career Value of Fellowship The Fellowship provides: Monthly stipend Overseas maintenance allowance Return economy airfare Conference and fieldwork grants Overseas medical insurance Fellows will also each be assigned a SIT faculty mentor throughout their post-doctoral training and have opportunities to participate in faculty development programmes. The fellowship is tenable for one year. On an exception basis, a two-year programme may be supported. Service Commitment One year for every year of sponsorship. Sustainable Maritime Engineering: Ship design and optimisation towards maritime decarbonisation; maritime battery room design for safety; intelligent ship and operations; autonomous vessels and systems.

IaaS Centre of Digital Innovation focusses on assisting company’s to digitalize their operations or prod/ucts and implementing AI solutions using ready AI tools to ensure a fast implementation to market. Key Responsibilities Work closely with centre head, Principal Investigator (PI) and internal/external stakeholders (including other IHLs) to support or drive applied research, and innovation initiatives outcomes. Outcomes include impact or revenue of industry partners Understand industry partners requirements and help create proposals to them. Work with the team to create IP (Intellectual Property) from internal grants to target multiple adopters Job Requirements: A good Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, with demonstrated experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Machine Learning (ML) research or application. Deep technical specialist with 8 or more years of working experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or similar role, with good knowledge of industry practices and technological applications in the field for the senior positions. 1 - 3 years experience will suffice for research engineers. Applicants with skills in Video Analytics, NLP (Natural Language Processing) or any of the following would be preferred: Caffe, Spark ML, Keras, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit- Learn, CNTK. Also Big data technologies such as Apache Hadoop and spark, Devops/MLops. Must have a firm grasp and understanding of data structures, data modeling and software architecture using Python, R, Java and C/C#/C++, as well as competence in mathematics including probability, statistics and algorithms. Keen interest to support research and academic project work, with demonstrated ability in developing software solutions to technical problems. Demonstrate proficiency to keep abreast of developments in the field and pursue professional certification programs.
